lol yep...2nd highest cap# (currently) - YuenglingJagr
But interestingly, they only selected about $51m worth of contracts in the actual ED. The minimum was $43.8m. |

I know Simmonds has the high value now but if you're moving him I really think you just need to tear the entire old core down with G and Jake as well. I mean those guys are going to be 33 by the time the picks you get for Simmonds are hopefully contributing in a meaningful way. - hereticpride
I could get behind moving Giroux but only if I am getting Patrick at 2. I think he is best bet to be that future top line center.
I could see scenarios with Montreal and Ottawa where they could use Giroux. |

They did everything they could to leverage for more assets. It was pretty unprecedented. |

so Vegas only took 3 goalies and 12 dmen, 6 in which are UFAs after the season and only one that is on a ELC. Obviously they are going to move half of them. Just have to wonder what kind of value they will have knowing they will need to move them or waive them before the season starts. |

Looks to be pretty quiet so far today on the trade aspect. Guess everyone is recovering from their night out in Vegas... |

They usually happen at the draft anyway, but I would expect some deals that actually happened during the expansion process |

They really don't have 5 mil in space. They have potentially a lot less because of bonuses. I would assume Patrick with have a total possible salary around 3 potentially if meeting the bonus provisions. They will prolly bank for that this year. I still see 18-19 as the year you see changes with potentially 15-18 in cap space with nobody on roster needing a new contract to go out and acquire a top player. |

lol...I wasn't even watching the show. I was outside cutting the lawn. At about 8:30 my high-school aged nephew texted me "you HAVE to put on the awards show!!!!!!"
I kept it on until the end. lol
Interesting that the best they could do for a host/MC was the guy from Pee-Wee's Big Holiday. |

Phantoms re-signed Swavely if you were a little upset over a coach losing his most trusted, dependable 4th liners |

It's also a good idea to leave about 1M for injuries and call ups.

Also, I kept wondering why the heck Sophia Vergara was there. Later my wife informed me that she's married to the host/MC guy. |
