I would like Zadorov but I think we came out ahead here, but both teams did fine. We needed O'Reilly for Jack and Vice Versa, so I Love having a hard working, talented, gritty Centerman respected around the league w/Jack.

Honestly, I haven't changed from the Day of this Trade I did NOT want to lose Zads, I loved him, but I like Crazy Russians who want to take Boston Bruins Heads off , so there's that.

I forgot about JT as he was one of like 10 we had at his age/talent/level but he was one of our top 4 of them at the time, but We Really Wanted/Needed a Center like O'Reilly. I'm glad that JT is looking promising, I wish you the best with both guys, I've always rooted for the Avs.

That's right. Teams with good D do their best. Teams that score goals bang the prom queen. Players have been brought in to improve the D. Nobody was brought in to improve the offense. Best defense is a good offense. This team's weakness is scoring goals.

He's exhausted 2 teams in 2 years. Two offensively gifted teams. Why do you want a player who doesn't give a poop about showing up? He's erratic offensively and completely unable to perform defensively. I wouldn't put him on this team for free-99 let alone the league minimum, 650K. There's no scenario that Nail Yakupov improves this team, on or off the ice.

But Zads rights are own by cska moscow which is the Government team, if they show public interest for him to come back, hes not going to say the people that control international Russia hockey, thanks but no thanks.

Its not that I was huge fans of BYRON, MITCHELL, & that other guy, but I've always found it odd that we had no need to move them, at that time, these players were too early to simply give them away.
What was the return on them if anyone remembers ?


Then we get their 24yr Defenseman , logging major minutes on first place team. Then his play slides, he isn't dressed for the Final Playoff game which they lost 3-1.

I think we gave them a favor and we just called ours in, I just believe that there had to be another team offering more than a 3rd pk for this guy.

Just my two thoughts. Side deals keeps the Hockey People in the Know, which then means it also serves as a sort of Job Security, if someone outside their Hockey Circle comes in they don't start with ANY collateral , whereas , if you have trust with 5 or 10 or more Solid Respected Relationships with Current GMs around league.

Of course, when somebody outside shows up and WOWS the Old Guard, they are quick to tie them into their group.

They're is 0 chance IMO Botterill goes in with 90% the same roster

Unless we plan on never playing guys like Bailey, Fasching etc, there will be changes very soon in the coming weeks to the roster.
