Didn't they change it though? You're only put on waivers on the way down.

My best guess is that Botterill will target Bonino and Daley. Bonino would make one of Girgs, Foligno, and Larsson expendable. Then he can hopefully find a way to get rid of Bogo or Gorges to make room for Daley.

give him a 1 year deal, put him in a position to succeed. hopefully he inflates his stats and some idiot gm gives up a 2nd for him.

I don't think the sabres should be afraid of a sub 3 mil, 3-4 year contract. He's a known commodity and that amount of increased salary over a rookie minimum isn't going to matter much to the cap

why pay him 3 mil when you've got ELC money players who could give you the same production.

This basically what JB is known for.

Definitely not 3 mil. 2.25-2.5 would be good. You're gonna get around 10 goals, or maybe more plus physicality. Rookies are fine, but paying Foligno 2.5 is a judicious use of cap space for his production imo.

I'll admit I was wrong about being lazy. It's not that he's lazy. He's just not that good.

Like you said, good teams find a way to fit players under the cap.

But with the Drouin trade is Shattenkirk really a fit there?

Col showed him no love until he got good so he told them thanks but no thanks. He literally said don't call me, I'll call you. Don't blame him, sakic really mismanaged it. His style would be perfect for housley, but with 30 other teams in the mix, I don't see him in buffalo. I predict Las Vegas.

Didn't Tampa try to trade for him at the TDL but didn't pull the trigger because he didn't want to sign with them. Not sure if he didn't want to in season or at all, Yzerman just gave himself some nice cap room, would not be a good move to invest it in KS imo.

Cody Corbett, a left handed dman was not qualified by the Caps. I could see him being signed to play in Rochester. 6'1" 205lbs, only 23 y/o and from Minnesota. Did have quite a few good years with the Oil Kings and is still really young for a defenseman.

He sucked even at the AHL level, when you are bouncing down from the Avs AHL to ECHL affiliate...not great
