Thanks Carol.
I'd be willing to take a flyer on Yakupov and Grigorenko on 1 year deals. Worse case scenario they don't pan out and become trade deadline fodder.

thanks Carol, I think Rathbone could be a real sleeper this draft. Brackett knows the kid well and really believes in him |

the Friedman reposted story is a really good read on the kid. Good Character, tons of talent, good head on his shoulders, really really like this pick |

Gagner could actually make our inept PP much better. i can't remember the last time we had a right handed playmaker on the left side jalf wall. Especially when we seem to deploy left handed dmen to qb the pp |

Sign anyone to 1 year deals, it wont hurt. Should be able to attract some young players looking for a fresh start, VAN has the roster of opportunity with a wide open top-6, PP in need of a shake up, and little competition |

Im ok with Yak for cheap on a short term deal. If he hit his potential, it is a steal. If he continues to fail he fits in with tank nation. Win/Win |

Cant see Gagner wanting to come to VAN. If he cant get a prominent role on a good contract, he will probably find another similar specialist role on playoff team. None of those things are what VAN can offer |

We have awarded Brock Boeser a spot on the top line with Bo, and awarded Goldobin a spot with the Sedins, because they have "earned" it
Gone are the days where kids came in, played limited minutes on the fourth line between players like Dorsett and Kenins, and earned the coaches trust. |

Apparently we are 'in the lead' for Weal as per Eklund, I like him. He's young and got some upside.
I like the idea of bringing in Yak, Gagner or Grigarenko. I'm actually surprised Colorado gave up on Grigs, as he's not bad defensively so far and is still so young. |

Don't forget that Juolevi is on the top pairing this coming season. |

He's from Vancouver and apparently has always wanted to play here. I agree with your assessment, but I think there's more to this than just winning as we can afford to give him a bit more $$ too. |

Well not really. They were given 9 games or so in the lineup. Pretty sure how Green sees it is where they will play in the lineup. I personally think Goldy will lock a top6 spot given his experience. BB is in a earn it year. |

That's right! How could I have forgot!
It's silly to suggest that any fringe prospect even be a lock to make the roster, let alone be a staple as a top 6 forward or top 4 D. These kids are young, and for us to do anything but keep them in Utica, could be leading us down a path that EDM fans were so used to seeing for so long. |

I don't think anyone is assuming Goldobin will play with the twins, I've seen many saying they think he will start in Utica this year |
