LOL Crosby said hey Jim instead of using that 1st for something useful go get a 4th liner that can play 6 mins a night in the playoffs? - Feds91Stammer
Your arguments sound so good when you drop the 1st round pick. Would sound a lot worse if it was last years draft and we traded a 2nd round pick for a 2nd round pick. What do your fancy charts say is the value difference between the 31st and 50th pick? I believe it works out to like a 5th round pick value. So yes its an awful deal to give up a 5th round pick and a 4th line center prospect who was passed by carter rowney. |

Great. He can't (frank)ing score.
Or pass.
Of players who have played 250 games over the past 4 seasons, only Josh Gorges has fewer shots than Ryan Reaves.
For (frank)s sake, he has 30 fewer shots than CHRIS THORBURN in 6 more games.
He's played 2448 minutes over the past 4 years. He gets one shot for every ~14:30 of ice time. - BINGO!
Different system...and for that lack of shooting he still netted 7 goals last year....not bad |

So first off this is confirmation bias and not actual data on how many runs Wilson takes. Secondly wtf is Reaves doing that is going to make this stop. Dude might get 6 mins a night in the playoffs... - Feds91Stammer
Buddy you had Tootoo on the roster haha
Reaves is coming to forecheck and skate hard. Fights will happen eventually, when needed. He could be the one hitting a guy like Backstrom, Kuznetsov just to show the other team if you mess with our guys we'll hit yours. |

Sure, plenty of speed and talent on the top three lines. But the Penguins employed Kuhnhackl, Fehr and Carter Rowney on their 4th line during those runs. The only thing Reaves changes there is that they get a little faster on their 4th line while adding beef. - hardnosed

Again, how will Reaves EVER replace the 0 goals and 3 assists that Carter Rowney put up in the playoffs?!? |

Rowney has more career playoff points than Reaves does.
And he's done it in fewer games.

So Rowney and Reaves on the 4th line will make up a potent scoring line. Got it! |

nah. he said "get me someone that protects me out there. the referee is doing a poop job and I am getting killed out there." thing is you can talk to professional players and they will always say that having that one guy makes a diffrence for them. maybe the player is poop at playing hockey but it makes the stars feel safer and play better. everything is not about math and graphs. play some nhl hockey and then say the same thing when you got 4 concussions cuz people are bumholes and noone protects you. |

Ryan Reaves will do nothing to protect anyone. Literally nothing. |

I agree. Based on this his shooting percentage, it's something you can't say is a negative. 7 goals on only 58 shots gives him a 12.1 % and he's 11.2 over his career, that puts him not too far off Kunitz' percentages and a hell of a lot better than Oskar Sundqvist to this point. Not too shabby for a 4th liner type with little ice time playing with defensive minded centers mostly and when he is out there, isn't necessarily looking to score. |

Who really cares (other than you maybe)? As long as he can run the Dubinsky's of the league through the end boards when they do take liberties with the stars, then protect's got nothing to do with it. More like payback. That said; I would rather when one of those guys does go after SC, JG, or EM, a player like Reaves goes after their stars. THAT'S how you police your star players, not by going after their goons. The thinking "Hey, I don't want to get my stars killed by my cheap play, so maybe I not aught hit that player in the head with my elbow or stick." In fact, If I was a player like Reaves, I would make the announcement loud and clear before the opening face-off that if our stars get treated badly, I'm coming after your stars. Hmmm, maybe I missed my true calling in life. |
