Hamonic is 26..fyi. He is signed for under 4 mill a year for the next 3 years. He is a proven top 4 d-man. Remember all the nonsense you said about him when you play Calgary next year.

A team that is realistically 3 years away from maybe having all the pieces together, a 30 year old Dman in Hamoinc at that time who probably be a shell of himself isnt really want they are looking for.

Wow only 39 players under contract? That is pretty embarrassing. If they keep waiting they'll probably have no choice but to settle on teams giving them several mid level pieces to fill spots instead of valuable assets.

I would have easily taken the Package offered by Columbus. Sakic is a dope. Seriously, How do you sit there and call Ryan Murray a 5th Dman on your team? Barberio is a 5/6th Dman on a normal team and you have 4 Dmen. The idea that Sakic thinks Murray, a 1st round pick at 23 is = to Barberio, a 6th round pick in his late 20s is beyond ridiculous. Especially when comparing a top D core that forces Murray to a bottom pair spot to a team that was god awful defensively. Not to mention how Barrie is apparently on the trade block.

They are minor moves but there is a theme there. Get rid of the slow dumb guys that Roy loved, focus on speed and skill vs big body grinders.

It will take more moves to undo the roster construction of the Roy era. Im willing to be patient, to undo a roster as bad as they were the past few years, it takes time
