he already agreed to a 2 year bridge deal, yet they are acting like he is out the door already.
Hockeynews cherry picked that russian interview translation but refused to comment on that part. Trolls gotta Troll |

It is indeed interesting that they haven't inquired into some journeymen such as Franson, Wideman, or even a guy just signed like Auvitu (sp?). There are still plenty of options out there and COL hasn't done nothing; They brought in Bernier (probably overpaid), Colin Wilson (revival project), Zadorov can still be re-signed. I like the depth Warsofsky signing. There's still players available and there's still time to improve. The biggest headscratcher has to be the Beauchemin buyout. If you're not going to utilize the cap space, then what is the point? Sakic has been bad for a long time. He could be onto something big, or he could be on the way out. |

Relax once Duchene is trade im sure they will get like 4 maybe 5 top pairing Dmen back. |

Release the Kracken!!!
Mr. Sakic, do not do any travel by boat. |

Wow only 39 players under contract? That is pretty embarrassing. If they keep waiting they'll probably have no choice but to settle on teams giving them several mid level pieces to fill spots instead of valuable assets. |

Sakic really gets under Eks skin...wow.

pssst I actually like the majority of moves Joe has made post Roy.
Get rid of Holden
Move Berra for Grimaldi
Move McLeod for Girard
Move Martinsen for Andrighetto
The Nieto and Barberio Claims
Colin Wilson Trade.
Bernier and Yakupov Signing.
They are minor moves but there is a theme there. Get rid of the slow dumb guys that Roy loved, focus on speed and skill vs big body grinders.
It will take more moves to undo the roster construction of the Roy era. Im willing to be patient, to undo a roster as bad as they were the past few years, it takes time

Because Sakic never had any job training in being a gm , yeah sure you have Sherman and Mcfarland as co/assistant gm's but Yzerman learned the trade under Holland , who, like it or not is a good hockey mind , same for Francis and Rutherford. - Alexzanki
He shadowed under Sherman and Lacroix for a couple seasons a special advisory before becomes VP of Hockey Ops then being named GM later on.
But people throw Sakic under the bus for being the GM during all the Roy era, he wasnt the GM for the first year and a half. Sherman was with Roys input until Sakic got his own staff |

One team claims they even met the Avalanche crazy asking prices and got a solid "No thanks," a source (not from Nashville) continued, "Then we asked what was missing and they went radio silent on us. Incredibly frustrating. Never seen anything like it."
What team would that be? I would like to hear more about this? Is this a legit team with legit players and prospects, or some team that didn't have any real quality to offer. Sick and tired of hearing about how Sakic is blowing it, but never any actual details of the deals he supposedly turned down. Were they crap deals with crap players and crap prospects? Details please! |

Might be the best Article I have read by Ek in all my years reading Hbuzz. Not a lot of random rumors that will never happen. No Philly plug in the middle of it. A bunch of valid great points with number of contracts, 3 d-men, Stevie Y comparison. I actually enjoyed this blog. Someone send it to the Avs. |
