He's actually better than a Crosby/Ovechkin/Rico Fata hybrid, too.

I almost don't feel I should make this comment with the few butt hurt isles fans lurking but...

Attaining Hamonic ++ for Duchene may have made sense if Sakic could have moved Hamonic right after for 1st and two 2nds from Cal and then flipped a high pick/prospect elsewhere for the Dman Avs need.

not really, bc there is a chance 4 pieces (despite valuable ones) could net 0 NHL players.....even though MDC will be one but still who knows until he plays his first NHL season

I don't think you're getting any *NOW* pieces for a player who wants out. Maybe Ryan Murray, but he sucks.

But that being said, I think that is close to fair value, and the teams could still work something out, even without a 3rd party.

MDC is a nice player, maybe they can use the draft picks to get a good young player that was in a Drouin type situation.

But I dunno its just a lot of risk and work to do such a futures deal.

I don't think talks about Duschene have any sense, he has talent, but doesn't have will to play, keep AVS it for yourself..... the biggest issue in additional team (and many players) doesn't want to play, is defense line: this team has only 1 legitimate def top 4 - Berry, Johnson top 4...... by Torts yes, but I am sure rest of the coaches would think before consider, Zadorov is bust, rest are yet nobody.....

bc there were open to moving him for a Top 6 fwd, especially for a guy who would be on their top line...thats why

Also Canes are primed to make the next step into playoff contention and a guy like Duchene can help them do that.
