If Chytil were to stay in N.A. to play, I knida hope he plays in the CHL. Think it'd be good for him. Smaller ice surfaces, getting him used to the basics of the game in North America. The only problem is North Bay isn't very good. - tomburton99
True, but wouldn't mind him staying home one more year, getting stronger slowly and then coming over. |

Yeah that works too. Definitely don't want him in the AHL. Does the Czech league still have that U20 playing against pros in that league? |

I don't know much about Hartford's roster, but is there even room for him? Others might know...maybe we can crowdsource the lineup.. or at least the prospects that would play there:
Brown* - Carey - Schneider
Lettieri - Tambellini - Kovacs
Ronning - Nieves+ - Gropp
Stromwall - Fogarty - Gettinger?
Andersson and Chytil TBD after camp?
*AHL Vet line - someone besides Brown?
+Maybe Nieves with the big club?
Did I miss anyone? ...... Maybe Fontaine? |

Wolf Pack Defense
Day - Pionk
Graves - Zborovsky*
Gimour - Pedrie
*Maybe Kampfer is the old vet now that Summers is gone
Berzgalov probably goes to KHL if not with big club. |

this kid looked good. he has some good skill. i think 1 maybe 2 years and then he comes over. really depends on if he can put weight on. |

not the best with the AHL roster but i would think they want Berzgalov to play in america to get used to smaller rink. maybe i am wrong though. |

The Lightning signed Ondrej Palat to a five-year contract worth $26.5MM. The contract will have an average annual salary of $5.3MM, but the breakdown of the deal is as follows:
2017-18: $5.6MM
2018-19: $6.855MM
2019-20: $5.3MM
2020-21: $3.445MM
2021-22: $5.3MM
Is this a possible model for Zib as well? Palat has been a better performer over his career than Zibanejad, so maybe NY can get Zib a bit cheaper than we thought. But as as a center, he might command in this range. Interesting that Palat has a slightly higher AAV than Tyler Johnson, which is well-deserved, but fewer years, enabling to become a FA sooner. |

Prior to both re-signing Smith and signing Shatty, Bereglazov would have been given as best of an opportunity as any other top Hartford d'man prospect to make the opening night Pro roster. With his 2 years left on his contract, he will be playing this season with this organization, unless he wants to leave America himself.
I do not agree with your reply here in that the Hartford d'men listed by that member, are "not the best with the AHL roster". Why then were Bereglazov, Day, & Pionk to name just three, all then being considered to possibly start next season on their Pro roster, prior again to Smith and Shatty inking their contracts here? |

That's how I read it. I'm not good withe the AHL either, which is why I'm hoping others can help figure it out.
Is there any way to stream WolfPack games? |

The varying seasons dollars amounts format could very well be a model if Zib were to re-sign closer to the lower expected amount in the $4.5M to $5.5M likely awarded AAV arbitration range. But I still feel that the hold up is likely due to the number of years in term, if he is demanding closer to the $5.5M in that salary range. The lack of center depth after the trade of Stepan only increased Zib's overall signing price.
The Palat contract has a $5.3M AAV, which I'm sure the Rangers would not have a problem in matching, or upping to $5.5M, but for a lesser years term instead. They are likely concerned term years wise, due to him suffering that serious leg injury last season, despite him returning without showing any noticeable side affects to his game.
However, if re-signing Zib for a shorter term, they would also be risking the chance that he could depart sooner, or if exceeding his expectations, would cost them more in the long run to re-sign him again. Once anyone encounters that type of injury, they are more easily prone for a re-occurrence, or one in relation that could be suffered later. That's especially so in this fast, contact sport, and could be also why (in addition to the overall money and term), that the market wasn't as big as expected for Stamkos when he became a free agent, a few seasons after suffering an even more serious in nature leg injury than Zib's. |

That's a totally different meaning then, with you initially leaving out those first 3 important letters composing your first 2 earlier missing words, ("I am ..."), of that reply of yours which I had responded to earlier. I'm sorry that I did not "assume" what you meant to say there. But, you know what you may make yourself look like if you were to "assume", and assume wrong especially. Have a good weekend! |

Berzgalov probably goes to KHL if not with big club.
Let's break down your roster here...
1) Brown is a UFA so not on the Rangers right now & probably won't be resigned
2) Lettieri is a RW/C, not LW; Carey usually plays on the LW
3) Gropp & Kovacs are LW, Stromwall is a RW; you forgot Chapie, Fontaine, Leedahl too as well as DeSalvo & Kotyk, who are on AHL contracts with Hartford
4) Day & Gettinger are too young for the AHL, they will either need to make the Rangers (huge longshot this year) or be returned to the OHL
5) His name is Bereglazov, not Berzgalov; he can return to the KHL if he so chooses, but I don't foresee the Rangers wanting him to do that. He could really help a weak defensive Wolf Pack & is much easier to watch here than over there while he acclimates to the NA game.
6) Kampfer will probably be the #1 recall when injuries hit so he'll obviously be in top 4 of Hartford if not the 1RD
7) Go Rangers!! |

I'm an almost sure that Day can play in the AHL this year. Since he has completed four full years in the O, he doesn't have to return to the league if he doesn't make the Rangers. |

Very surprised that you're right...
Brooksie wrote this a few weeks ago:
"Day, who received his second invitation to Team USA’s World Junior training camp after having been among the first round of cuts last year, is eligible to play for the AHL Wolf Pack."
