talking about 2yrs with Zadorov? no no no... lock this guy up. give him 5yrs 2.75mil and lets move on. I think the bridge deal is gonna bite the Av's in the butt and this is a player on defense they cant screw around with. he literally strikes fear in the opposing team and makes players recognize they cant just come charging into the Av's zone w/o paying a price. plus he loves being an Av and wants to be here long term. why not make everyone happy and just lock him up long term. I think 2yrs is going to end up costing the Av's a lot more when he and they and the rest of the league realize what a threat he is in the D zone.

thats whats going on apparently. They have the 2 year deal locked in already but are still talking long term. If they can't get that done at least they can just do the bridge and start the season. He isn't going anywhere and will be on the Avs for a very long time

Avs got so screwed in that deal its insane. That might go down as the worst trade in the modern era alongside Millbury's Islander deals. Avs are a complete disaster and will be bottom 3 for the next 5 years. I guarantee that after Duchene gets traded for far less than what they are asking for (because he's not that good), that Mackinnon asks for a trade.

All the Avs will be left with is Johnson, Barrie, Landesbust, and wife beater Varlamov.

the combo of him and Roy were terrible, they were not on the same page and what they did together was what caused the issues. Complete disconnect on the vision of the team/org present and future

I dont think Sakic just went out and traded, signed, and drafted all those french canadiens. Also Roy was a Gm for the first year and a half before Sakic adopted the role officially.

Like I said Roy pinned tem down very early with his moves of Stastny walking, signing Iginla, signing Holden, Guinen, Mitchell, McLeod to long term extensions, Trading for Briere and Stuart, then wanting them to sign Beauchemin for "leadership"

Sakic isnt as bad as people say he is, post Roy he has done very smart but small moves so he doesnt get the credit for any of them bc people just assume they arent doing poop.

Honest take of Sakic, hes not an aggressive GM, and isnt willing to put his balls on the table so he is more inclined to do smaller safer moves since he believes in his core. However he is pretty good at drafting and is sticking to the long term goal of trying to build a farm system vs Roy who just wanted to Win and dint care how they got there. 2013-14 playoffs/winning division was the worst thing to happen to them, Roy got a taste of winning and they torpedoed the 5 year build strategy. Roy didnt get his way and left bc he wanted to trade Barrie, Duchene, sign Radulov and try to win now. Sakic wasnt interested in that and now he is left trying to clean up this mess that they both of them did together
