How many fortnights are left in the season?
Also, are we taking postseason play into account? - jmatchett383
I only know it will cost a sixpence.

Still can't believe the Flyers traded Carter to LA. - jmatchett383
Columbus traded him. Wish he had wallowed there with no cup.

A PTO for a journeyman defenseman makes a lot of sense to me. If Manning were to out perform 3/4 of Morin, Hagg, Sanheim and Myers in camp, you can't risk one of them filling the 7th defenseman role.
Will be disappointed if Patrick isn't on the roster this year but excited to see him in World Juniors. Hopefully he would be traded to a CHL contender if by small chance it happens.

(I am aware that we traded him to Columbus)
I have no issue with him winning a Cup. Just saying that Philly didn't trade him to the Kings. |

If Manning clearly outperforms 3/4 of those guys, we have more to worry about that who the #7 is. |

You could have gone with any of the following instead of Fleury:
Kevin Stevens
Billy Tibbetts
Dan Hamhuis
Ulf Samuelsson
...actually, you know what? Let's stick with Fleury. |

Exactly! Same thing with Patrick/Lindblom cracking the Top 9 up front. The Flyers need most of these kids to be able to play. |

So was I.
Such a great atmosphere and a great game.
I've said it a billion times, but those World Cup games were some of the best hockey I've ever seen. - johndewar
Agreed, between the star power on every roster, the quality of the play, and the intensity, Ive never seen better hockey in my lifetime.

Bryzgalov would have been a god here if Pronger wasn't derailed within his career. I have no way of knowing this for sure but just a hunch. Bryz's issues didn't start with his play. It started because he openly stated that he likes reading and discovery channel (not these exact words obviously) .
I remember watching the Flyers play in Colorado and seeing a fan there holding up a sign reading "The universe is humongous big" and thats when I realized this guy wasn't just a "personality" to the fans in Philly. It's a shame his play was so eratic. If it was better, I think he'd be a guy we'd all really like... |

That would be like me outperforming Ryhs Hoskins in a HR derby. |

No, way funnier just to have certain media members ask him to quote lines from Borat. Because, you know, all those countries are the same. AMERICA!!! |

I think that's an over reaction. Manning is a serviceable #6 Defenseman. These are all 20-23 year old kids. If they need more time in the minors, they'll get it. |

If Morin or Hagg need more time in the minors they are probably not gonna make it to the next level in the same capacity we originally thought they would.. |

Manning came out of training camp as one of the better defensemen on the team last season and continued through out the month of October. He didn't carry the momentum much further but I don't think it's out of the question he earns a top 6 roles out of training camp this season.

It raises red flags for sure but it doesn't close any doors. Playing defense in the NHL is a pretty difficult for someone in their early 20s. |

He's also in the equation and could also find himself in the #7 role or the minors. |
