Saying Manning or AMac will outplay all the rookies that are capable of playing in the NHL already just seems lazy. Especially when talking about a veteran on a PTO. It isn't like we have never seen these guys play or even seen them in preseason/camp. They are more skilled, professionally experienced, have mature bodies.

I just can't see what I have seen from both the prospects and the veterans to think that it is a remote possibility they aren't good enough to make the team. I know if they do get sent back to the AHL or if the Flyers do end up signing a vet to a PTO that is the narrative that will be repeated.

No one is saying Manning or Amac will out play the rookies. To rule it out as a possibility is just setting up the inevitable female doging and whining to come when Hakstol makes a decision to play one of them over a rookie who may or may not be struggling at the time.
