Thanks for thatπ
You may be right about JV, I just don't see Canucks not wanting that speed and physicality in the lineup.
If he becomes an early call up, that is fine by me, as we can't expect too see a roster full of inexperience. - Reubenkincade
its possible JV takes DD's spot.
goldy, boucher look to be on the way down. Maybe even waive boucher.
Would have been interesting to have had green behind the bench for these games however and see how these players performed. So far with cull they look unprepared and lost. Hope cull isnt like that for the comets season |

Bowel Auger has the best name on this site - VANTEL
I once had 2 colonoscopys (colonoscopii?) in an 8 day period.
The first time they decided I was going to be awake, and put a flat screen monitor hanging from the ceiling in front of my face. If I recall, I threatened to to burn the docs house down or something so they shut it down and brought me back a week later. Knocked me out and I awoke later in the recovery room smoking a cigarette and wearing a hat.

Wow, I can see what several posters were adamant about all summer long. Trade all the vets, get rid of the Sedins, Gudbranson, Eriksson, no need to have players like Vanek, Del Zotto, Gagner or Sutter.
I mean play the youth, they are so much better at not defending or drop passing to no one, those stick to stick passes that don't stick...thing of beauty I'm telling ya.
So much more entertaining...what a phenomenal game 9-4, holy excitement Canuck fans, get rid of the vets... - Makita
Yes, this guy gets out! No more vets, id also rather see us lossr 9 to 1 then 2 to 1.π
Ps, excuse my poor writing, I'm in the er in Victoria high on oxi.... feel off my diet bike and dis simmering to my spine |

Lets be honest here, the Canucks don't have much in the way of highend talent, there was maybe two or three kids who'll have legit NHL careers out there today. Thus the need to continue to rebuild through the draft and continue last years trend in drafted "talented" kids.
Outside of Pettersson, Dahlen and Boeser there really isn't any talented kids with NHL type skill, the kids you saw out there today most likely won't ever have anything but fringe NHL careers and probably won't cross that 100 game threshold.
Gadjovich and Lind are interesting but still very much question marks, Virtanen looks to have matured enough to take this seriously and he may be salvageable. Juolevi is a work in progress.

Lind looks to have legit upside.
Gadjovich can carve out a niche.
Chatfield could be a solid D in the making.

Who will be the 1st cuts? Will it be junior players like Gadjovich and Lind( Who I would like to see a bit more of) or will it be more obvious players sent to minors like Bachman, Holm Megna etc |

megna, boucher and chaput should be on the 1st bus outta here
its quite possible LV needs more players in AHL just to ice a team. Could ship megna, chapoo, boucher etc over for peanuts....low draft pick or future considerations, A&W coupons etc |

It's not that bad, sure, we're not seeing a dearth of high-end talent. But that doesn't mean that there won't be several who will develop into NHL players. Again, this was a meaningless preseason game where none of the players had huge amounts of time to get used to each other and develop chemistry.
The problem we have is that our expectations are far too high. We see other teams prospects shine and then expect ours to do the same. I have always believed that this city has an inferiority complex regarding it's major sports teams (not just with the Canucks but the Lions/Whitecaps) that unless we're dominating and our players are all-star calibre, we think they aren't any good.
From what I've seen of these two preseason games, it's clear that over the next few years, the roster of the Comets is going to stacked with a range of talent, some of whom will end up being productive NHL players however you define productive (i.e. Boeser, Virtanen, OJ, EP, Dahlin, Demko), replacement level (or fringe if you prefer) NHL talent (i.e. Subban, Biega, Boucher, Goldobin), AHL quality and so forth. This is a good thing, if the team invests its time into developing every player in the system, there's no reason to say that some of the players that we have written off won't improve and be able to have productive NHL careers someday. It just may be that they won't have them with the Canucks, and that's a good thing, because it means we can trade them and maybe up our talent level that way as well.
