I'd much rather have guys like Vrbata/Eriksson/Miller here to mentor the youth and keep the team from sucking.

I didnt find that trade to be as much of a steal as others think. A high contract a first for a first 4 spots later and a second. Seems like Detroit won that.

there's 1 year left on that contract, Arizona isn't spending to the cap at this point anyway so why not do it? There's literally no downside or "losing" that trade for the Coyotes.

OEL, Hjalmarsson, Goligoski, Demers, Chychrun is a solid d core.

Plus they added Stepan up front to go along with their youth(Domi/Keller/Strome/Duclair/Fischer/Dvorak/Etc).

Could still use some help up front, but Chayka the nerd has done a decent job.

I agree, this guy gets it, why waste space for low percentage prospects of the future who moray likely won't ever play an NHL game when we can attach to the roster with veteran, proven nhl talents who could become high percentage prospects when faced with the prospect of a trade for valuable assets.......
