Even if there's potentially a poop load of money on the line? Money talks and it's looking like it's going to take injuries or a different organization for him to get games in the NHL as a dman and get a big league paycheck. If he spends this year in the AHL as a winger and adjusts, he could easily be in the NHL the year after and still play the point on the PP as well.

I really don't see the downside in trying it.

Never a good idea as guys like Matt Martin are a dime a dozen.

I'd prefer a more skilled guy there but he adds a different element. He's got good relationships with the kids.

With all the talent in the lineup I could care less about a guy making 2 million.

The NHL isn't a very forward thinking league, half the GM's/coaches are stubborn old dinosaurs who are afraid change. Torts using Gagner as a 4th liner and PP specialist last year was considered innovative by people lol

He was slotted in as my shutdown 3LC for our 2018 lineup. I used a permanent marker, not pencil
