I don't think you were. Just really isn't something you should joke about. I mean it's either a lack of respect for the students, which I don't think is you, or not understanding the reality of the job, how much goes into it for how little pay. I'm just not finding it a funny topic.

Back to burning Delaware.

Or better yet, maybe we get a better RW for Giroux.

I do understand, my fiancé is a reading specialist. Making the comment, I figured youd be self deprecating. I'm not trivializing what you do.

Did you somehow have six degrees of Bacon Grease to get to that conclusion?

How in any universe does Lehtera checking anyone have anything to do with a trade involving draft picks and a player added to balance out salary cap have anything to do with checking someone?

- Glak18

Lehtera was invisible tonight. That part of the trade doesn't look like it's going to work unlike the Gudas trade.

Lehtera will always be invisible, unlike Schenn who scores pp goals when you need them

They really gonna keep amac/manning instead of this kid? My god what an offensive weapon from the blue line. They have room for that kind of player. They need to make space on PP2 for him too

Me yesterday: He's definitely played well enough to make the team, but I can understand him starting in the AHL.

Me today: They can't justify sending him down to start the year.

I think if he shows he is ready for the NHL then he should make the team. I think the best way to defend is to not defend. Reality is that they don't have to justify their decisions.

Did you watch the game?

All the reports are that line was very good as the game went on. Started slow but started to be a very good line by the end of the game.

Hextall has said if a rookie pushes a vet out and earns the spot he isn't afraid to keep a kid up if ready.

Right now I would have to say Morin, Hagg and Sanheim all have EARNED their spots. Not a 47 hater but think he is odd man out right now. Have been seeing a lot of the 9-48 pair. Right now i would start the season like this:

Provorov - Hagg
Sanheim - Gudas
Morin - Gostisbehere

Manning 7th

It's going be really hard for them to send Sanheim down when he's the only guy on the team that seems to realize that you actually need to shoot the puck and go to the net to score goals.

All kidding aside, he is clearly one of their top 6. There is no reason to send him down.

I'd have no issue sending manning down. No way another team puts a claim in for him. And if they do. Whoopty do

As well as Hagg as played, I don't think it's best for him to be starting his NHL career on the top pair and matching up against the opponents best line every night, especially when their first 4 games are on the road and they will have a hard time controlling matchups. I would go with the same 6, but my pairings would be:

Provorov-Gudas
Sanheim-Hagg
Morin-Ghost

Even if they did, so what? As I've said before, if you need a guy like Brandon Manning, you can get one. They aren't gonna cost an arm and a leg to acquire.

I get the premise but I think Hagg is better suited then Gudas is. Also as much as Hagg is a rookie this is a guy who did play against men in sweden and played 3 full seasons in the AHL.

I think his skill set and the fact is he isn't a dynamic guy like Sanheim or Gostisbehere actually plays to his strength. He is just a solid all around defender.

OT, but how about a 10 top Flyers hitters of all time, taking into account frequency as well as magnitude and whatever other factors you want.

I could live with either, honestly. I'd prefer to start with Gudas and see how Hagg does as the season moves along.

I'm still not sold on three rookies starting on D. When is the last time you saw an NHL team do that(if ever)? Sanheim looks very good, Hagg has been hot and cold, and Morin has been good, but maybe the coaches are seeing something negative with him right now. Who knows?

You need the Mandog in there....grit, determination, his teammates and coaches love him, leadership, character guy. Remember, he had offseason back surgery and didn't even start skating til mid-August. I think we can cut him some slack the first two games he has played. I thought he looked better in the second and third periods last night.

I think he is better than AMac, so he should be the one to stay as the #7. He and Gudas play well together, so I could also see them being the third pair. The next week will be very interesting.
