Frankly its unbelievable that Morin could even be considered as a final roster cut.

It will be very interesting to contrast what this team looks like in San Jose vs what the line up will be in January. People might want to keep that in mind before they spew too much venom here or on social media. This is still a team in transition. |

Interesting that Lindblom would be cut. I would rather send Leier down, move Weise to 4th line and have Lindblom with the 3rd line. |

This may really be a stretch, but do you think some of the comments Morin made the past few days may have hurt him? Most of us took the comments as just being very confident on making the team, but could Hexy and Hak taken them another way?
I think he’s ready, but who knows how the brass feels about things. I think the plan all along was only to take two of the three rookie D, and the one sent down is ready to quickly come up if something transpires(injury, early season trade, etc). |

Really don't know what else sanheim can do. He outplayed ghost all preseason. Showed off his transition and speed game, made excellent plays breaking up a couple 2 on 1's. Whatever |

For Morin there is 29 other teams that would gladly take him....same with Sanheim. At this point anything Hextall says should be taken with a grain of salt. If I'm Morin, and by some weird circumstance I get cut over Macdonald or Manning...I think I ask my agent to politely ask for change of scenery....Sanheim, not so much, they only buried him in the A for one year.

100 % he did. I guess this explosive juggernaught of an offence will have to be led by Macdonald and Manning while the first round guys get to lead the Phantoms.

If it was up to me, AMac would be waived and Manning in the press box. However, it seems pretty clear they are going to send one of the kids down. That being said, again if it was up to me, the kid going down would be Hagg. Here are my reasons.
First off, I think Hagg should stay up and be in the lineup, but if one has to go to LHV, he's the guy I send. Sanheim brings a unique package of offensive skills that this team badly needs. He is one of the few players on this team that can generate offense at ES and that is just too valuable to not have in the lineup. Morin's size, reach and strength make him a better option for the PK than Hagg and with the amount of penalties that will likely be called, at least early in the season, Morin too needs to be in the lineup.
Hagg does everything well, but there is no facet of his game that stands out to the point that you can say he MUST be in the lineup. Again, if it was up to me, both AMac and Manning would be out of the lineup and all 3 kids in, but I have no say in the matter.

It comes down to Andrew Franking Macdonald.....if he's in the top 6 there is no room for one of the kids because they do have to play....they can't and shouldn't be a healthy scratch.

IF Patrick makes the team....I'm hoping he doesn't go with #64.

I've been told a veteran wouldn't block a rookie if he deserved to be on the team |

The only positive thing that I can take from AMac being in the lineup is that maybe he plays well for a couple of months, not great because that is impossible, but at least solid. If that happens, perhaps a team that badly needs a Dman would make a deal with the Flyers for him with the Flyers retaining 50% of contract.
That's about the only positive I can see in having AMac in the lineup.

I do think it's a good idea to shelter the rookies, so caving in AMac against top competition is fine for a while. There are other defensemen around that are less of an investment for a team to take on, but yeah it doesn't hurt to hope! Haha
