Amen to that. Nothing is worse than knowing an "even up" call is coming. And, just like how players not in the NHL emulate the players that are....so do officials.

Way too many game managers at every level.

But isn't that what happens though? A certain team will get lets say three calls in a row against them. Even the announcers will say something to the effect "well you know which team will get the next penalty". Sure enough they do. It seems officials feel they have to even out the penalties for some reason. Thats game management and not calling the game corectly.

It's exactly what happens. That's why I put way too many game managers at every level. Hell, I'm playing in the slapshot adult tournament in Johnstown, PA this weekend......I'm sure they'll even do it there.
