I dislike the eberle move from EDM standpoint. Its just hard to respect a team that has been given so much, but still achieve so little

Are you knocking BPA then? Yes they probably did pick BPA, whether they turned out or not after the fact.

Russell is huge for that team. There defence is bad, without him it would be worse. They are missing Sekera badly. Drafting in rounds 2-7 suck as well.

Eberle trade was a cap move. Terrible one but usually teams with cap problems sooner or later get fleeced. It was a terrible trade. I'm not even sure why they made the trade. They aren't in cap troubles this season.

BPA arguably wasnt yakupov, Nugent hopkins at the time. Hall was for sure though.

Russell is trash. If you value shot blocking than i guess he is mediocre but for 4 million dollars a season, i would rather have sbisa.

Who would have been better then Yakupov? There are only 4 players that have scored more then him even how crappy he has been. Taken 11th and 17th. Not exactly most would have been considered better at that time. Maybe Reilly at 5 but he had only played 18 games that year.

I thought Yak would be better but in terms of BPA of a teams needs (my philosophy) I had the Oilers taking Murray. I also had Van picking Gaunce. A bit sad that I got that one right.

I think it was after that year I actually started playing real attention to the draft.

I wonder what the Oilers would have been like if they went opposite taking Tyler Seguin. Center at the time and then Landeskog. Instead of Hall and RNH.
