I've never seen Coots so excited after scoring before last night.
That change Simmer had in OT was straight up men's league. Really unacceptable. |

Perhaps they'll trade him to us for AMac, Manning and Read? - BiggE
Side note I actually think manning has been better the last few games. He continues to get saddled with whoever our newest defenseman is. He played with some speed and got pucks to the net. He also as always stuck up for teammates. I dislike him in the lineup slightly less than last week but that could also be because of our other choices |

Im good adding Raffl to the mix
I dont think he adds much more than Read, and I dont think either does much for the team - flyhoc
Have you ever checked the stats of a 4th line ?
Personally I dont think so otherwise you wouldn't say something like this about Raffl
or general about all who play 4th line at the moment( Leier,Laughton ) |

What was that about ? My review of Michael Raffl ?
You seem to KNOW he is such a quality player, I assume.
I am not permitted an opposite view ?
I believe he has 0 points so far this season
I feel, like Read, his career has steadily gone downhill, he is a marginal NHL player, 3rd, 4th line guy at best
MY opinion of the player only, but I certainly do not need your feedback on my thoughts |

Not sure how it could live up to the acclaim and newness of the first season..
Doesnt mean it's underwhelming for me..just means they set the bar so high with the first it's hard to beat it. |

My thoughts are he is basically just a "guy", yes a 4th liner, but maybe not even a good 4th line player any longer |

Raffl is a bigger, stronger player who creates space and wins board battles on that fourth line. Matt Read isn't any of that. |

I think Raffl is playing the role he's most suited for right now and doing it well. |

I kind of agree.
I didnt start by trying to kill Raffl, I simply am not a big fan of his, I think he has been overrated by many. It was to some degree in jest, adding his name to the proposed trade a little while ago

I mean he was when he scored 20 on a line with g Jake and we thought he was an answer. But playing his role today he's not. He's a solid player on the 4th line and a big reason for that lines success |

I prefer Laughton and Leier and their speed, but can live with Raffl on the 4th line, I understand he brings size to that group.
I apologize if I came off strong in my criticism, I was annoyed by a comment directed at me, for my adding his name while having some fun on here.
Anyway, I must run, have a good evening here |

Don't think we will even get to see him. Saying MacDonald ahead of schedule. Gost Patrick could be back Saturday according to hexy. By the time Morin 2 weeks are up might be the 8th d man again |

I don't agree with Bill that the Flyers didnt deserve to get a point out of that game. Its not like they tied it up on flukey bounces. They got off to a bad start. They're missing some important guys and playing with a lot of young guys. They didnt give up on the game and they managed to tie it at the end. It was by no means a good game, and a real snoozer to watch, but they earned the tie. - Dkos
the other aspect of this is that good teams win even when they shouldn't, and good teams should beat teams that are lesser than...of course injuries, schedule etc always come into play. the flyers didn't quit, and scratched out a tie. good for them. it also means they don't deserve to lose at that point just because they had a bad start. they COULD have won that game. they didn't. it's annoying, because we all saw it coming. |

I think he is a quality player in a role player sense. He is strong on the puck, strong defensively, and is a big contributor to the Flyers having the puck more times that not when he is on the ice. He's also a player that is versatile enough that he can be moved up in the lineup if needed. At this point in time he's a better player than Read is. Read just doesn't have the skating anymore unfortunately. Raffl should also be ahead of Wiese on the depth chart also in my opinion. |

Today he’s a beacon of reprimanding his readers. It’s always a breath of fresh air.
I seem to remember being told last season that Morin needed to work out his positioning problems in the AHL, that they couldn’t afford those growing ains in the show. Now we’re allowing Sanheim to work through them on the Flyers. Meanwhile Morin still has work to do. IMHO Sanheim has shown consistently more trouble finding his lanes. I have faith both of them are going to be excellent defensemen.
Of course what do I know with my inability to learn fom 5 decades of watching hockey at every level. - mayorofangrytown
regarding the fanbase being of short patience with a hyped rookie, i think it's exacerbated when those bumps end up being goals against, as was the case last night. the talent is there. your point is well taken about one player being stuck working on his game in the ahl and the other getting a shot. morin will eventually get his chance this year. sucks an injury has kept him out when there was an opening. |

He's also a pretty big upgrade over VdV or PEB. Even if he comes out at the end of the year with similar point totals as those two had. He's filling that role so much better than either of those players, just by being a guy who's going to have the puck more, and also makes his linemates have the puck more. If he can chip in a goal here and there, great. Raffl is doing a great job this season so far, as are Laughton and Leier. |
