Rags down 2-1 to Vegas after 1
😂
And, of course, Wings up 2-0 on the Yotes five minutes into the first. |

Rumor is if Rags lose this game, Vigneault goes. Which is really sound logic to me. |

I understand where Bill is coming from and saying give Sanheim some time. He's gonna make mistakes but to say the fan base has learned precious little has me confused , it's not like the fan base constantly says he sucks like they do against McDonald or Manning, the new whipping boy. It was just mentioned he has struggled. I believe he will be good myself but maybe not ready yet. Who says he can't go down to the Phantoms and dominate and then come up. Even last game besides the first goal when he was on Alts side, and cost us a goal, he lost several battles in our end and a few times just fired the puck out blind, yea safe but then we were chasing again. He just doesn't look comfortable yet. Too bad Morin wasn't healthy would be nice to see what he can do with a chance. The mistakes like in Overtime are gonna happen. But gives us fans something to talk about. |

It's more like some of us were saying last night: No team in that sport has ever played 82 perfect games
I wish they had played a little better overall, but the reality is that they are down a little depth and they stole a point
After 82 games, if they make the playoffs by a point, I'm not going to look back at Game 12 and say, "wow, they shouldn't be in the playoffs because they had to steal that point against the Coyotes" - AllInForFlyers
How will you look back at game 12 if they don't make the playoffs? We shouldn't look at the playoffs as a givin in October. I've wanted to talk about Filppula's value for the deadline. I asked the question after an 8 to 2 game against the cap, so talking about trading him was out of the question at that point. |

If they are in the playoff hunt only an offer they cant refuse would get it done, like a 1st rounder.
If they are out of the playoffs I see a 2nd and a conditional pick getting it done.
Personally I wouldnt be upset if they find a way to move Lehtera or a few other ppl and resign him if the term and contract are favorable. |

Talking about making deadline deals in October is kind of silly to begin with, don't you think? |

Moving Lehtera, with his contract, would be a modern day miracle.

So we don't play an Eastern conference opponent again until Nov. 22nd. Man, that is some weird scheduling.

They did well against the WC last year...they need to take advantage of the Metro, so on one hand it is nice they dont get them while theyre injured, but it sucks to have all those games at the end |

I guess the one good thing will be that the travel schedule will be pretty easy down the stretch.
These next 2 are going to be tough. Chicago on the road is never easy and the Blues are playing very well. With our D pretty thin, and our goaltending not the type that usually steals games, they are going to need to score some goals.

The games Neuvirth tried to steal they couldn't score a goal. The goaltending is what it is. Elliott has the ability to play better, but I don't expect the combined goaltending to be too much better than it is. They are 1% below league average right now. |

Bill did not say the fan base as a whole has learned precious little. He was talking about a segment of the fan base.
"It hasn't taken long -- nine games -- for the segment of Flyers fans who may have been watching the team for many years but learned precious little about the game to decide Travis Sanheim isn't NHL-ready after all. "

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't ripping them. Just recognizing that while both can play very well at times, for the most part, they aren't going to steal a lot of games for you like the very best ones often do.

No it's not silly. Looking towards the future is a common point of conversation. Many discussions have been had about possible moves for the Flyers in the future.

People making mountains out of molehills.
Bill was spot on about that type of fan. It's not just a Philly thing though, you see it everywhere. Usually it comes from the more casual fans who really don't understand the sports they are watching. They see a bball player put up 30 points and 15 boards in back to back games or a guy hit 5 homeruns in 7 games, and then when the first guy goes out the next night against a tough defensive team and only puts up 18/9 or the hitter goes 0 for 12 over his next 3 games, they are dumbfounded as to why.
We all know people like this. Their favorite team wins 3 in a row and they are making parade plans, then they lose 3 in a row and they are calling for half the team to be traded and the coach to be canned.
It is what it is, and it's probably never going to change. May as well just get over it and move on.

Bit of difference though. VLC was respected around the league as a class act and former superstar and he still had that lethal shot which could lead a team to think that, at the very least, he could still have contributed on the pp. Lehtera, OTOH, is just another guy and, from what I've seen so far, brings very little to the table, especially at a cap cost of 4.7 million.
