People making mountains out of molehills.
Bill was spot on about that type of fan. It's not just a Philly thing though, you see it everywhere. Usually it comes from the more casual fans who really don't understand the sports they are watching. They see a bball player put up 30 points and 15 boards in back to back games or a guy hit 5 homeruns in 7 games, and then when the first guy goes out the next night against a tough defensive team and only puts up 18/9 or the hitter goes 0 for 12 over his next 3 games, they are dumbfounded as to why.
We all know people like this. Their favorite team wins 3 in a row and they are making parade plans, then they lose 3 in a row and they are calling for half the team to be traded and the coach to be canned.
It is what it is, and it's probably never going to change. May as well just get over it and move on. - BiggE
Well said although I'll add that I fully support Bill's comments and the need for it.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't ripping them. Just recognizing that while both can play very well at times, for the most part, they aren't going to steal a lot of games for you like the very best ones often do. - BiggE
We are on the same page. I would like them to be at least league average, but at this point in the season it is very close. 3.5 goals, which you can easily pick out a few things that couldve gone different to eliminate those goals (interference penalty on OEL, the nashville 5 on 3's) |

Bit of difference though. VLC was respected around the league as a class act and former superstar and he still had that lethal shot which could lead a team to think that, at the very least, he could still have contributed on the pp. Lehtera, OTOH, is just another guy and, from what I've seen so far, brings very little to the table, especially at a cap cost of 4.7 million. - BiggE
Lehtera is still a skilled guy who has produced at the NHL level. Stranger things have happened. It's a longshot but so was Lecavalier.

It won't be easy but we had the same outlook with Lecavalier. - MJL
And the Lecavlier deal was considered a modern day miracle. Do miracles happen twice? |

Hmm, I do recall Jody Shelley scoring twice in one game. Naturally it was against the Flyers.

Yep as a Broncos fan I am seeing it about that team. Beginning of the year the defense was playing lights out and the offensive line looked stout. Team was winning lots of fans saying they looked in Super Bowl form again. Fast forward to the last 3 weeks. O line decimated with injuries. QB having issues due to no time. Calls for change of QB flying left and right. Now that Lynch might be healthy I might think about the change since Lynch is a little more mobile than Siemian. But no way was I even considering going to Brock Osweiler. Until Lynch can play I ride Siemian.

Most playmaking centers need good players playing with them to produce.

One thing we've seen through NHL history is that it only takes one team to agree to trade for a player from a team. |

Nice blog, bill! I hope that the injury to Morin is not serious. I hope that he plays for the big team soon. |
