Nov. 1 and this season is on the precipice of being over. reminds of those teams pre mcdavid
So if a gm comes in, gets mcdavid (and leon and Klefbom) and still can’t build a decent team, is he potentially even worse than his predecessors who had none of those luxuries?
Handed a golden ticket and this is potentially what he’s done with it ...

I’ve flip flopped a few times, but nah he shouldn’t. Just doesn’t have the strength yet to be effective in a mans league.
He’ll be a quality player someday tho I think
Worst part is that they just might keep him as our wing has been totally gutted and is so awful that he might actually be one of our best ones.
But I doubt he stays. |

Me neither.
The guy has fuking dealt hall, seguin, kessel, eberle, wheeler, boychuk etc
U could make a great team just out of what he’s given away.
I do remember Tim Thomas playing out of his mind. As I’m sure u do too...
And the canucks were unequivocally the better team imo.
Never really checked how much of that core of he actually put together.
Was fairly prudent in assembling the depth tho if I remember correctly. |

When is Sekera getting back on the ice?
Surely/Shirley last years success wasn't on the back of him & Eberle??? |

Hall isn't even great, he's good at getting points, but that's still a reach. Horrible defensively, turnover machine. He had two seasons where he had a high point total. Plus look at New Jersey's defense. It went to poop after the trade and their scoring barely went up. Edmonton's scoring didn't suffer and their defense rose astronomically.
Seguin was a bad deal. No doubt about it.
Wouldn't have Seguin (ignore the trade) or Hamilton without trading Kessel. That move helped a lot more than it hurt them.
Dude, do you not remember everyone poopting on Eberle last season? Small memories you guys have. Shoulda got more than Strome for sure, but Eberle is afraid to go in corners and although he improved his defense quite a lot last season, he was still liable. And would you rather have Draisaitl, Strome and McDavid or deal with Eberle's cap hell?
Wheeler didn't do poop until 2011-2012. Peverly helped them win the cup, Wheeler had 27 points in 58 games. It's not the same Wheeler.
Boychuk got them Carlo and Ryan Lindgren who, according to scouting reports, has a lot of upside. And while yes, Chiarelli didn't make those picks, he got them those draft picks. They were forced to trade him because of the cap issues.
You need to simmer down. You're overreacting. Honestly you're normally level-headed and think things through (minus Russell, which you're still wrong about) but this is just pure rage when it's still very early. They play 52 games against the west, so far they've played 4 games and they're 3-1-0. They do need to get their poop together, but don't forget Sekera is out. |

Well he helped a lot obviously. Horrible turnover ratio last season but he was still solid. Very important for the second unit PP and he was actually good on both ends of the ice.
Eberle has underperformed for the past couple of years. Like he was my favourite player before Pakarinen, but he was horrible in the corners and his defense was awful even though he improved last season.
At least that's what these people were saying last season. They just need a reason to be outraged. |

Dahlin-Karlsson (trade Nuge for Karlsson obviously)
Klefbom-Larsson
Lidstrom-Hedman (coax Lidstrom out of retirement, he's only 47, force Hedman to play with a right handed stick. Trade Slepyshev for him or whatever)
Use OEL as the seventh defenseman |

December at the earliest for Sekera.
I heard that the NHL is waiving the salary cap for Edmonton, and Kreider and Nash will be McDavid's new line-mates. The Rangers are just handing them over too... They don't want a (frank)ing thing for them. We're also allowed to dress as many players as we want, so that's pretty cool too. |

Cmon laughs, why wouldn't Tavares tell the Isles (frank) you I'm going to play with McD see ya later alligator.
Then you would see Panarin give Torts the bird cause he wants to win. Bye bye Colombus hello Edmonton.
Babcock would quit the Leafs & become assistant coach, Sully wants in so he offers his services for the PP & Therrien would be on the phone...............

Who ever is coaching this pp also needs to get pimp slapped. A peewee team can predict their off the wall pass to the guy beside the net attempt wrap around routine. I haven't seen it work once yet so not really sure why they are forcing that play 6 or 7 times a game |
