True story, Jack had 11 more shots in 20 less games in his second year than he did in his first. That's going to pull the percentage down when you score the exact same amount of goals.

Also true story, Jack is averaging 1 less SOG per game and 2.7 shot attempts per game this year versus last year.

Jack makes Kane a way better player, Kane makes Jack a worse one.

I will jump on this wagon with you. Gerbe isnt the only one calling for it and he is correct in my opinion.
Kane is a plug and play shooter. Move him anywhere else and i would bet the dip his point totals might take would be out weighed by the increase in jacks production with someone different who is more capable of distributing the puck.

at one point last year didnt kane have a huge streak of 5v5 goal scoring while playing on the third line. His style of play isn't co dependent its the exact opposite. the only thing that changes is he takes shots away from jack who everyone wants to see shoot more. Kinda seems like a no brainer to separate them.

Im hoping theyre leaving him with jack in an attempt to inflate his value for a trade. If botts wants to shed a contract and extend kane then he should have okposo with eichel and try to inflate his point totals for that reason. If not, everyone is begging for more scoring fromthe third line and i cant find a better way to achieve that goal. He is the perfect third liner on any team. He can fire away and crash the net all day down there. Put him with a couple grinders, give him the puck on the wing and let him shoot all day just like he does with every linemate. Him and jack together is not beneficial.

Here is the head scratcher for me. Housely seems to like his top 6, even top 9 - because he hasn't really changed anything. But we continue to lose and look sloppy. A guy like Girgenson's plays well and then gets relegated to the fourth line with Nolan and Larsson. Reinhart is doing nothing yet we know that last year he played well on Jack's wing. Baptiste played with McDavid in Erie yet he isn't given a chance to play with Eichel.

On the D-line, Falk and Fedun are better than Tennyson yet they sit and Tennyson doesn't (until last night). Hmmm

I stand by not wanting mittelstadt or Rasmussen at 8. Their production didn't warrant a top 10 pick. if it works out that awesome, until they play an nhl game its kinda hard to make that claim either way.

Ristolainen i was wrong about, i admit that. I still think he can play on the top pair but his role needs to be adjusted.

These line combos seamed to be based on trading payers and contract negotiations :

Kane free agent- gets to play with eichel
Sam rfa- doesn't get to play with eichel

Sam and his agent were looking at signing along term big $ deal. Jbotts laughed and said they weren't even going to talk this off season.
Sam thinks sam is really good at hockey

Jbotts knows he can be a #1 winger for jack moving forward. Plus they are buddies. Eichel's leaving money on the table was a nice way of saying "pay my friend"

That's good to know. I think he's going to be with the sabres next year. He's talented. I'm not trying to be a Homer, but his skill set should translate immediately to the nhl.

He had a real bad stretch late last year defensively with turnovers or near turnovers due to fanning on breakouts. And ever since he seems to be walking on eggshells out there.
