Wow, nice work Todd. Not surprized at all by the stats. Versteeg is the new whipping boy on the PP IMO. He's not producing anywhere near what his ice time should indicate. Was glad to see Janko on the PK last game...it's time to move on from many of these vets.

Good read as usual, keep up the good work. What is your take on Tkachuk having a hearing today according to tsn on his little tap on Witkowski? I think the penalty he took was enough punishment as is.

Tkachuk should't be suspended but probably will be for a game or 2 due to his name

I'd have to disagree. He's the only playmaker with a RH shot (maybe dougie but not to the same degree). He doesn't always get on the score-sheet but I feel like he QBs fairly well from what I've seen in games and mixes good vision with puck movement.

Don't forget the flames like those little passes which means every player could touch it in 10 seconds and he wouldn't get the assist.

1 game for a misconduct penalty of inciting an opponent...seems a bit much for this situation.

After thinking about it some more, he should probably get a game or two. If you take your Flames bias out of it, it's a little severe but warranted. He did whack a player who had been kicked out of the game and had left the ice. They can't set a precedent that that's not a suspendable offense. He also has a history.

Had he speared him, yes... It was certainly not a spear and barely a whack. Had Witpoop not continued to shove Kulak after he won the fight then there wouldn't have been any reaction. How many times do you see players bump another when they are leaving the ice? Happens all the time. No suspensions. He should get fined but a suspension? I just don't feel it is warranted in this situation... Flames goggles or otherwise.

I was looking at the player stats for Witkowski and he's played 62 games and only 4 assists. The bum is lucky he's even an NHL player let alone playing in any league.

He isn't an NHL caliber player...he is there to be a meathead, thank god these guys are few and far between.

He was mad Ferland wouldn't fight him, why would he? Guy is on a five game goal scoring streak GTFO and go run around in the ECHL

Just a fine imo. But that is good because this little douche needs to be on the radar and on the suspension progression charts. He'll have many more coming his way in his career.

And all the media wants to talk about is a tap on the legs and an AHL goon getting a 10 gamer

I don't think I've ever seen a player hit someone with their stick after they've left the ice after getting kicked out. The fact that he had left the ice is a big deal. That's why the Detroit clown got 10 games.
