Bob Duff: It was bad, but not even close to the worst Detroit's 10-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday barely cracked the franchise's top 10 list of worst-ever defeats.

Fist! Suck it, Jero!

More games like last night, less posts from Duff.

It's time to embrace the tank and catch up to Buffalo in the cellar.

Dah-lin! Dah-lin!

And of course, enuff of duff!

One game by a big differential... not a reason for panic. It happens. One team got up for the game tbe other didn’t. Anomaly

If the Wings don't turn things around soon, Gordie Howe is going to rise from the grave and beat the crap out of the front office.

And don't even think about Stevie Y. - you can't have him back.

This team has been playing badly for a long time now. Following the same pattern as last season. Good start. Go into the tank. Struggle rest of the season. Lack of talent, AHL coaching, complacent GM, poor drafting, lack of blue chip defense prospects, terrible cap management... It's all led to a Perfect Storm of Failure.

I don't know why some Wings fans believe Stevie Y is coming back to be the Wings GM. It's a pipe dream. He's going to likely win a Cup this year in Tampa as long as they stay healthy and don't get too full of themselves.

Wings had their chance to replace Holland with Yzerman but Ilitch Sr. blew it by giving Kenny the choice to stay. Now we must live with the consequences.

Absolute bullpoop if Holland and Blashill aren’t both on the hot seat now. Same with Duff.

yzerman isnt coming back unless he truly wants to start from the ground. hes got the ideal roster in Tampa that will be good for years to come.

face it. this org. risks turning into the lions. keeping GMs/Coaches around just because they like them. Thankly the wings dont have what the Lions do. That is gullible fans who will continue to go to games no matter the product put out there.

No (frank)ing way SY leaves TBL right now.

They have AT LEAST a 5 year window to win the cup with how well he has built that team.

I've been thinking of a possible 3 way trade between EDM/CAR/DET...

It would have been centered around Rask, Edmonton 1st to Detroit, RNH, Kronwall, and Detroit 1st to Carolina, Faulk and (Tatar OR Nyquist) to Edmonton.

Carolina would probably ask for a slightly more (a prospect, possibly from EDM), but the value is there for each team.

Each team addresses a need (EDM=defense and RW top 6 depth; Detroit=cap space, 2C center; Carolina=solid 1Cb (upgrade over Rask*) and a solid 1st round draft pick for deepening/improving forward prospect options).

One key thing here is to look at what each team loses and how it can be manageable. Detroit can lose one of Tatar or Nyquist with Mantha developing into a stellar top 6 option. EDM might lose depth down the middle, but the team will be more well balanced. Carolina can cover up the depth on the right side with how stellar their depth is when it comes to defense. Kronwall would definitely help mentor the young defensive core of Carolina for two years. Then he is gone.

Thoughts? I'm projecting EDM's 1st to be around 13-16 and DET's 1st to be around 8-12.

Extending upon the above post.

Our 1st might end up in the 13-16 range (I hope we make the playoffs, but realistically, I don't think it will happen, doesn't mean that we won't compete though) whereas you guys seem like once you guys get out of the poop hole that your team created, you're probably going to be picking around the 9-12 range (don't think you guys will be making the playoffs though).

Your team definitely needs a young 2C center to form a tandem with Larkin and not to mention that DET's Top 6 winger depth is phenomenal so losing one of Tatar or Nyquist won't hurt as badly. Zetterberg could/would also shift to the left wing (his natural position I believe), thus giving Blashill more options. One thing to mention is that Tatar/Nyquist are capable of playing on the RW right? I believe that is their natural position?

Which happens first? Zetterberg scoring a goal or Duff writing a quote-less blog? I'll take Z in this one. It may not be decided until March though.

I appreciate your well thought out trade proposal. I don't want either Tatar or Nyquist on this team. I'm literally sick of both of them. But it's all about Dahlin now. We NEED Dahlin. BAD. We need to keep our lottery pick. Oilers will finish much higher than Detroit in the standings. McDavid alone guarantees this.

Firstly, thanks.

Secondly, I understand the whole Dahlin thing too. We got a couple of guys in our forums who would absolutely love to have Dahlin in Oiler silks. He JUST might be better than Karlsson/Hedman/OEL. Just an absolute beast.

Thirdly, Oilers will finish higher, but I still think that DET is capable of playing decent hockey. You guys are just in the midst of a poopty losing streak.

No. We're in the midst of a modern Dead Wings era. On the decline since 2009.

Well at least the Coyotes have Keller and the Sabres have Samson Reinhart who according to Garf, will get them OEL in a trade.

Yotes have a very solid core of talents though. 100/100 times the Yotes over the Wings roster.
