Defenseman Nathan Beaulieu did not join the team for practice in Chicago and has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Blackhawks. Beaulieu did not play in Colorado after leaving Saturday's game in Pittsburgh due to an illness. He has not been ruled out for Sunday's game in St. Louis.

With Beaulieu absent, the lineup remained the same as it was in Colorado, with Josh Gorges and Zemgus Girgensons skating as a fourth defensive pair:

I used to sell advertising. Here's the thing about advertising, if you expect your return to be tit for tat, you are a fool. Aggressive marketing is about ubiquity. Quickly name and eye doctor, a shoe store, an outdoor clothing store and an injury attorney. Chances are us Sabres fans fire off the name of the companies that advertise on MSG. When you are exposed to a product, most times the return isn't immediate, but it's about being in the contagiousness of the masses. And 2010 for example did a great job of that for USA and Canada hockey. The other sports you mentioned don't have professional leagues with 20,000 seat stadiums dotting the land and tv contracts.

My .02 cents.


Edit: Those business that didn't advertise or didn't see the value in advertising because they didn't want to cut the check today still exist. They just exist on a different level.

Other thought: NHL should be on ESPN for less money than NBC. Discuss among yourselves.

I had no idea his game on the boards was so strong. I always heard he was a bull in front of the net, but he actually can get in and fish pucks out. Looking for that same finish as you said.

No. Risto is on a (I believe) very good contract, he's still young, and OEL would be an awesome addition with Risto in the lineup but a swap doesn't help us much.

They're pretty comparable, and Risto will ultimately have a better contract. I'd take Risto over OEL. OEL may have better defensive prowess, but the cost you get for Risto, I'd take Risto.
