Nobody under-appreciates the value Jack brings on the O side of the game, nobody.
Last time I checked, there is a thing called Defensive play.
True franchise players excert energy in both areas.
At $10m per, I certainly expect the generational talent to earn his mo eh when the puck is with the opposition.

Alex Ovechkin would like a word. I don't see Pat Kane playing a ton of defense either. Seguin isn't going to be mistaken for a Selke winner either. I don't think Pavel Bure knew what the word "defense" even meant.
