It's better to finish 17th. 0% chance of falling in the draft. That's the sweet spot. - Nucker101
Ha! |

Wow, well what can I say to that, other than there was a good reason I didn’t post here for the last 3 weeks. Time to exit.

That's excellent news because that's the exact spot that Benning is gunning for. |

lol….not necessarily. We finished 2nd last a few years back and picked 5th so there are no guarantees now that finishing lower gets you top 3 just increases the chances a touch.

Yes that's what I was alluding. That you can move up to top 3 but odds are likely to move down from your position finish. Like 26th bumped down all the way to picking 9th instead of 6th. |

mathematically, finishing 17th is by far the best option
3% chance of moving up
0% chance of moving down
3 ÷ 0 = infinity
literally infinite value
-----------------------------------------
meanwhie 3rd-last:
20% chance of moving up
65% chance of moving down
more than 3 to 1 odds that you move down |

Lol now you are getting Bettman's new scheme of killing the tank. With no risk of falling there are better odds to move up to top 3 lol.
Those minuscule percentage point differences on ranking are such a placebo to really moving the needle. The weight is so insignificant to the formula calculations on the draw.
Take those lotto draw simulators for example. Notice how random the picks come out. Luck of the draw. |

yeah, I realized this when we had this discussion a few days ago
see my post above
it's all just a Bettman scam that no one can see through or has the balls to call him out for.
He knows teams like Colorado/Vancouver will be fine in the long-run when it comes to revenue, but he's looking out for his sunshine teams just in case they have a down year. |

Uhm why did you have to go into tin foil territory? Stay with the odds and why designing a fall really has no reward. You're good to go. Now what lucky charms can we use to win an award? |

That part was just for humour, but the odds thing is legit.
Pretty bad timing for the Canucks. |

Yup. Quality scouting and development can help make the difference. Maybe cultivate a trade for an extra pick or prospect. Get lucky with some reclamations or free agents. |

If the world was monochromatic it would be devoid of colour. However, that is where the details to vision come to life. Otherwise, we would be stuck in grey areas without understanding the concepts of how things really work. - Nuck4U

Slow and steady kind, you know the Canucks have more top five picks in the past seven years than two of those clubs. Carolina has two 5th overall picks just like the Canucks. |
