Elliot is playing well, it could've (should've) been 5 or 6 to nothing by the start of the third if not for him. Overlooked in most of your analysis of last night was that Philly faced a good team. I'm not going to try to tell you who watch Philly's every game that their team wasn't flat, but was a lot of that "flatness" not caused by their trying to keep up with a faster, more skilled, and relentless team? Barkov's line was hard to handle, then try to contain Trocheck's 2nd line followed by more speed on McCann's third line.
The Flyers spanked FL 5-1 earlier this year, but in that game FL dominated the first and could've, should've had a comfortable lead, but couldn't score to build that lead. As they often did early in season, FL became frustrated and started to press, making horrendous mistakes that Philly pounced on and buried them. FL has steadily improved defensively since mid-November. I guess it's possible that Philly looked past FL, as most of their fans seem to have done, but If nothing else, last night was good practice for what Philly will see more of tonight at Tampa Bay. If they play as "flat" as they did last night, tonight's game will be 7-0 before they even begin to mount any challenge. TB doesn't miss the chances to bury a team as FL still seems to do.

To your first point, I would be amazed if Hak did not have a LOT of input in to who he wants called up or sent down. I guarantee if he said, I want player A instead of player B called up, Hexy would call up player A.
- MBFlyerfan

Sure a coach has input but it's still the GM's call. The poster said that the coach doesn't use his personnel in Lehigh Valley.

It would not be my choice but Leier played 6 minutes of total ice time last game and 3:52 total at 5 on 5. Surely we can't think that playing Lehtera over Leier is going to have much of an impact. We also had to know that once Manning was ready to play that Sanheim was going to see some press box time.

What does Lehtera or Manning bring over Leier and Sanheim regardless of if they are playing 10 mins a game or less?

I don't think Lehtera brings much of anything over Leier in a 4th line role. I think at most is that Lehtera can play on the 2nd unit PP.

Manning is a more experienced and a better defender at this point in time than Sanheim is and likely is trusted more by the coaching staff. We knew this was going to happen.

No chance Tampa played their backup. Flyers will have target practice at the lightning bolt on his chest

Alt isn't a problem in our system. Morin being made of glass this year is the issue.

I want someone to claim him to help clear up some of the log-jam.

I know he isnt an issue.
