You could have made the argument that the Flyers 1st PP unit would not be as good this year because Brayden Schenn had a lot of goals and they would not be able to part with him. But they seem to be doing just fine. Ghost is the beneficiary of playing with four VERY good 5v4 players. You can't say he is the best PP D based just on assists. How many points would he have on the 2nd unit? Not many. But he should if he is the reason for the success.

this makes zero sense. Every good PP defenseman in the league plays with very good players on the PP. I can say he is the best because I think he is. Did you see the play he made that was a big reason why they were able to get set up on the PP that he scored on? That's another reason why he is one of the best if not the best.

Did you watch it? Not making this up.

So, are you enjoying this game or are you pissed off that they are playing a good game?

When Ghost scored that goal were you mad that he "almost didnt" or happy that it went in?

Just so I understand...

Since Provorov is a young developing player, Hakstol should have sat him for the entire 3rd period after his turnover that led to the secong goal...right? Wasn't that what we agreed you have to do for proper young player development as opposed to proven vets?

Provy probably is lumped with the vets based on his normal play

But I was told that, when a young developing playee makes a bad decision, like Patrick lsst night, the proper course of action is to staple his ass to the nench and rely heavily on proven vets.

You disagree?

So you are saying that defensemen have more chances to get points because of the system the Flyers play? That seems reasonable. Other teams with more effective units don't give the defensman on their unit as many touches.

How? He's only 20 and has played just over 100 games.

We have to hold these young players accountable for their development. Wasn't that what I was told earlier?

Totally not the point. Don't make claims that a played whose stats shows his shortcomings is really great because he can hit an empty net. Simmons was the star on that goal.
