Sure.

First off, Haley and Patrick were both pursuing the puck, and Patrick tried to perform a stick lift and missed and clipped him. It happens. Every player has been there before (including Patrick) and every player will be there again.

Second, Patrick has been playing well of late. He was playing so well in fact, that Hakstal decided to move him up the lineup to play with a talented line.. He had his icetime cut by 1/3 because of a high stick? Interesting. I disagree with it.

There's a huge gap in 1st period goal scoring.

Under Hakstol, even the pathetic Sabres have scored more in the 1st period.

Patrick took two stick penalties the previous game and last night high sticked a player in the face for no reason whatsoever. He was just skating beside him. Not sending a message to Patrick is what would've been ridiculous. His lack of ice time
was earned and deserved.

I meant more an underperforming player with potential for an underperforming player with potential. Sometimes small shake ups can work wonders and you hope you get the better end of that deal. Arizona strome and buffalo Reinhardt are guys that come to mind
