Ghost,
Lappy may not have prepared the PK as well as you are spinning it.

I'm still puzzled over that Keith Jones commentary on the Weise high stick.

The PK survived tonight, but it didn't look very strong. Glad they were able to get that late kill though.

If they could play 75% of their games 75% as well as they played tonight, they'd be...well, they'd be a lot better.

Despite the ups and downs tonight, the difference was that they committed to board battles deep in the offensive zone specifically, and around the boards. A lot of their time in the ozone was deep and allowed for pinches from the other wing to the net or the defensemen up ice.

Despite their two powerplay goals, I think that their powerplay is the most predictable and stretched part of their game offensively. Though stretched play is a part of the advantage of a powerplay. They are not a big team, but when they collectively commit to the tight battles they have a chance. Their biggest inconsistencies come from both lack of experienced-talent, and commitment to battle in the hard areas.

Okay. If it sounds snarky, I apologize, don't mean it to come off that way.

A predictable powerplay csn still be effective if executed well. Just look at Washington. You KNOW it's going to OV for a one timer, but he still racks up the PPG.

Of course, but their powerplay didn't win them the game. It helped win, but until they consistently figure out the rest of the time they will be what they are presently. Inconsistent. That was my point. Lowest 5v5 GA doesn't mean a lot if you can't score enough to win. Powerplays dry up in playoff hockey and 5v5 wins.

Maybe last season I'd agree. But this one they run so many different looks and switches on PP1, it's hard to call it predictable. Ghost and Jake switch. Coots goes behind the net, up top, on the wall. There's a ton of movement. I don't get this complaint.

Until we lose 3 straight again, might as well get used to Lehtera and Manning

Only issue I have with a great win tonight is Manning scoring most likely leaves Sanheim scratched for the next game as well , and I feel like he's been playing well lately so not sure I'm on board with it. Other than that good game from the boys tonight. They played hard and held their own against the best team in the league when things were getting tough the last ten mins of the game there. Win against the Pens and Isles and things really start to get interesting , here's hoping they show up for those games like they did tonight.

I won't be shocked if they win until the STL game and Schenn kills them

I see them beating Pitts, Flyers are usually very amped up for games against the Pens. Isles will be a harder task for them I feel. If they can pull off wins against both in any fashion , and with the amount of games they have left against the division they will be in pretty good shape actually. And I'm tired of all the Schenn talk, he wasn't a game breaker on this team and Frost is looking like the real deal in Junior right now. If they make a good pick with the 2nd, 1st rounder they acquired or even use it in a deal that gets them back a really good player , I will have no issues with the trade at all. People seem to only see the short term with that trade though for whatever reason.
