Patrick took two stick penalties the previous game and last night high sticked a player in the face for no reason whatsoever. He was just skating beside him. Not sending a message to Patrick is what would've been ridiculous. His lack of ice time
was earned and deserved. - MJL
That may be the dumbest penalty I've seen all year. It was ridiculous. |

Patrick deserved the Swingline treatment for that crap. |

Frankly I don’t know if Hakstol is a good coach.....I don’t know if Hextall is a good GM and I don’t know if this leadership group needs a tweak....what I do know is this team is flawed. The young generation is floundering and I’m not sure where the blame lies. A side from Provorov I’m not sure what they have. The organization has gone from elite and revered to a bottom feeding-middle if the pack generic bore. They have have no identity....I always knew what the Flyers were.....I don’t anymore. - landros 2
They are an irrevelvent NHL team for a while now.
Been at best middle of the pack for many years now. But hey saint Ronnie has a plan. 5-7 year rebuild plan. So sit back and enjoy. Wonder what the plan is if the prospects don't pan out.
Same core same issues. Roster is lacking talent. |

Slow starts, mental lapses and lack of urgency under:
Lavi
Berube
and Hakstol
Something needs to change. - BiggE
Laviolette was a great coach that has confidence in his vouching system. He's seen a Cup Final before, after and during us. Firing him was a mistake, especially if he was really asked to "tweek" his system in favor of Luke Schenn and Nick Grossmann, two players we traded for during his stint. |

But they're great at 5v5 this year, so there's that. - Scoob
We have given up less goals but we also have been horrible at scoring st 5 on 5. Kind of need both to win games |

That's about my untouchable list right now also. I might add 53 but you'd need to blow me away to make that deal doable. - dragonoffrost
Someone needs to give me the #fancy on him because my eyes tell me that yes, he scores (and he points), but he is also extremely sloppy. |

Agreed
I'd also be shopping the following, obviously they won't be able to move them all:
Filppula-I'd be willling to retain 50% since it's his final year, but I'd want at least a 2nd round pick coming back since it will likely be a late 2nd rounder
Weal-I think he's no more than a borderline NHL scorer so if someone is willing to part with a bigger, grittier player that can kill penalties, I'd happily move him
Weise, Lehtera, Read: I trade any of these three for a bag of used pucks

The Flyers have been a one line team pretty much all season. Right now the coach is stacking the deck and trying to win with one line and one defense pairing for the most part.

Living and dying with the kids would be an even worse environment for young player to develop in. You have to give them responsibilities in steps and layers. They're already relying too heavily on a player like Hagg. - MJL
I don't agree but whatever.....opinions and all |

yeah i can't really get on the coach for sitting Patrick for that. I mean, he will be back out there tonight with the opportunity to get the coach's trust back. |

He'll be fine as a 5/6 PP specialist. Which is what I keep him for. |

Gostisbehere's ability to move the puck and make plays is too good to be a 3rd pair defenseman despite his weaknesses. If and when the Flyers become a better team and are more able to dictate play, Gostisbehere will become that much more valuable. He's a 20 minute a night top 4 puck moving offensive defenseman.

I can live with that part of Ghost's game because of his offensive side of the game. His defensive side of the game is something he can continue to work on but natural born skill is something a player is born with. |

He probably would end up as a 4 on the Flyers if all works out but I'm saying I even keep him if we can slot him 5/6 and PP1. |

Exactly. It's why I would have moved G back to center and Flip to left wing, to at least see if you could get some secondary scoring.

Weise on the power play last night was inexcusable. I'm done with Hak even though the team's problems have been going on for years before him. His line combos make no sense. I can't remember who said Konency looks like he's running from a tsunami but that's the way the whole team looks. Everything is frantic, plays are forced, players sending pucks to no one. Not a good place for kids to learn. |
