I think ror is on the trade block.
He has value but is making some pretty good $
Would need to take back some salary.

S&BD were talking about after the Flames game, Eichel fist bumped everyone on the team at the gate, but ROR. Apparently Reinhart didn’t at first, but Eichel hit him in the arm like “hey, don’t leave me hanging.” I looked for that last night and it’s starting to get in my head big time. Like is it me or has ROR been trying less and less of that cross ice pass to Eichel’s sweet spot on the PP? I don’t want to believe it, but where there’s smoke... If ROR is that big of a Richard, then get him out of here. They should be able to get something good for him. Ottawa for Hoffman. Do it. |

I remember the rumors always coming out of Colorado that RoR desperately wants the be the franchise guy/captain. He just doesn't have the elite talent to be that guy, he's a poor man's #1 center. And, here with Jack maturing, he'll never where the C and he knows it, the C will be Jack's next season.
But now we have Casey in the mix at a possible #2C as early as next season. The kid's talent with the puck seems off the charts. So where does that leave RoR if Mittelstadt becomes a dominate center and takes over the 2C spot? No way is ROR accepting 3C, he'll demand a trade before that. Maybe he sees the writing on the wall for him keeping the 2C spot in the near future and he's gearing up his exit. |

Not that i wanna believe this, BUT...
What if the problem is Jack?
He’s now supposedly had issues with:
Gorges, Reinhart, & O’Reilly
And were there others last year as well?
MAYBE, just maybe,
it’s our golden boy who needs to get his head on straight
Just some food for thought |

People are WAY overhyping Mittelstadt
Not that i don’t think he’s good...
but i think a lot of ppl are gonna be disappointed if he doesn’t come in & light it up next year
With the way Botts seems to be developing players (ill say it again)...
Mittelstadt MIGHT NOT even play for the Sabres next year |

Maybe, but when the franchise player butts heads with someone he's rarely the one who gets punished, just ask Dan Bylsma. I'm sure he loves getting paid still, but if I had to hazard a guess he'd still rather be coaching, even the Sabres.

he is what he is. an 18 yr old kid. he looks really good (especially in person, really noticeable) against older college players. I have high hopes for sure.
i don't expect any kid that age to come in and light it up, but you can see the potential is there.
the sabres aren't winning the cup this year or next........... they need to come out of the lockout guns a blazing. have a plan for then and stick to it, 2020-21, i just want to see progress from now til then.
deja vu from 15 years prior, minus the whole defense being injured, ill, or brain damaged in the playoffs. |

Fair enough...
But this kid isn’t even a PPG in COLLEGE
And A LOT of ppl on here are talking about him being the 2C for NEXT year
That’s EXTREMELY premature imo |

im glad someone else brought this up and recognizes it. it does make sense unfortunately. You can add Bylsma to your list while you're at it. |

you are not incorrect.
i would give him a year or two at 1/2LW or 3C.
he gets a lot of attention from opposing teams in college, he wont in the nhl. im excited to watch him in the nhl. |

I don’t wanna overreact either
Just something to consider
Not every kid comes in the league & is mature enough to be a true “Captain” right away
Hopefully (if it’s Jack who has the attitude),
that it doesn’t take him as long to mature as it seems it has Kane

Me too
It just sounds like ppl expect him to jump right in & perform at a high level in an important role
The Leafs didn’t even play Matthews at 2C as a rookie |
