actually they seem to do the opposite. accumulate 2nd round picks in good years (deep draft) and trade them away otherwise.

Well, Josh Brook looks pretty good, Ikonen had a very though start of the season but has been playing better lately.

Corey Pronman (prospect guy for the Athletic) has Thomas as the 6th best prospect not yet in the NHL, and Kyrou as the 19th. If he is being overvalued, its not just by Blues fans who want him to be good.

Until then you are just in a giant circle jerk trying to either over evaluate prospects or devalue potential trade targets as a way to get off before the other guy does.

Radulov is another story. MB already stated that the demands from the Radulov camp were completely insane. that was back in January, more than a year ago.
right there, at that point, if you know you won't resign him you have to trade his ass at the trade dead line. That is on MB for not doing so.
