Highly debatable if Bowman is, either. I expect Q out and one more year for Bowman, whether he deserves it or not is highly debatable. - EnzoD
which is unfortunate. bowman should go. this is his mess. the contracts given to their core. getting bent over on trades time and time again. an inability to draft and develop NHL defensemen.
I don't think firing Q would be the the right thing to do the more I think about it. |

I haven’t got a clue which one of them should get fired which means both. I really believe leaders and coaches have a shelf life. They both have been around a long time. |

Oh I agree with you for the exact reasons you mention. However, I think that Q must go only bc the room appears to be a mess with a lack of cohesion and enthusiasm to play hard and smart every game. That goes to leadership (2, 7, 19, 88, and Q). The rookies at forward have been the bright spots of the year, while there is simply a lack of talent on D, which can only be blamed on Bowman. Both should be gone this summer before the draft IMO. Imagine a GM that would trade up in the draft to get Dahlin or Tzchuck?? A new #1 D or #1 C is what this team needs or they are gunna be stuck in mediocrity for a while. |

Glass starting another of Coach Q up's strange roster moves .Has he ever had DBC with Kane and AA ,seems like a no brainer . Oh well the Dive for 5 continues ..Go HAWKS !! |

as bad as this team is, I still think they are a few moves away from being able to turn it back around. The rookies at forward have certainly been a bright spot. For this young team, the best lesson and teacher might have been failure this current season. It is absolutely horrific for an organization that prides itself on "one goal", but lose Hjalmarsson, Panarin, and Hossa, replace them with what we are seeing now- this isn't surprising at all.
The good thing for the Hawks is, they might not need to trade up in the draft to grab either player. They might really fall that low. |

Well that was awful. Some lack of finish and getting to the dirty areas combine with more weak defensive play by some of the supposed "best" players.

This team is so freaking soft it not funny. I would fire the GM and Coaching staff at the conclusion of the last game. There is a 2 part article on thr-rink tgat exposes just how inept Boman has been as a GM. Also if gou look at the tenure of Coach Q, you see his shelf life ends at about 8-10 years with a team.
Its obvious that the Hawks miss front office talent like Dale Tallon and Ric Dudley. Those guys know how to identify talent. And Trent Yawney who knows how to develop talent. - mmurray892
Tallon drafted from 05 to 09. He drafted Toews and Kane. Other first-rounders were Skille, Kyle Beach, and Dylan Olsen. He also drafted Hammer and Kruger. Some years he had nobody outside the first round who had any significant ice time in the NHL. Whatever Bowman is, let's not pretend he replaced a legend. |

Positives:
Closing in on a Top 5 draft pick
Nobody injured
Negatives:
Everything else about this team both physically and emotionally, pretty much.
Kane sets the tone with an egregious turnover that leads to Jeff Fish, I mean Glass, flopping around the crease per usual and it's 1-0 Wild.
Toews cannot make a tape-to-tape pass.
The rest of the Top 6 forwards completely ineffective.
5v3 PowerPlay with no high danger looks and no goal.
Entire game played on the perimeter. No net front present both 5v5 and on the PP.
Entire defense behind Keith should be in the AHL, including the goalie.
What I’d do:
Trade Anisimov
Trade Wingels for a mid round pick
Keep Crawford out the rest of the year
Keep playing Jeff Glass
Draft Top 5 and take Brady Tzchuk who is the epitome of what this team lacks….size, grit, tenacity, physicality, and high end skill to go along with it. Maybe the Hawks get lucky if they finish as the 5th worst team in the league and win the lottery to draft Dahlin….a guy can dream, right?? |

Difficult to see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow through this miserable hockey season and snow. The prize for us at the end if the rainbow really would be what thus team needs if somehow we could draft B Tzachuk. Originally I had the thought of sending AA back to Columbus plus ? FOR J Johnson. I wanted to use Johnson as the incentive to exchange first round choices. But yes Johnson might thrive on the right team with a good partner on a second pair. He has no ed down to their third pair this year, and that us,without R Murray playing (Injury). So maybe the idea that the Blue Jackets could get a #1 for Johnson is wrong. Or, they want not a late #1. Oh well trying to figure out trades is really futile endeavor. Question: if able to draft Tzachuk, would you wish to re do the Panarin for Saad trade? - jhawk59
Well, apparently Columbus would not want Saad back:
@Aportzline I know bad timing for this Q but would CBJ consider bringing back Saad he’s the first name I heard that I thought might move the meter for the Jackets.
Aaron Portzline @Aportzline (Athletic writer for CBUS)
Nope. |

just finished watching via replay...
my guess is this team can't wait for 4/7 to come...
have full 2 min 5 on 3 and that was atrocious to watch: 4 guys on the peremitter and one guy skating through the slot...can't connect on the back door, no rebounds no screening...poor shot selection
then a goal off of glasse's skate cuz of poor positioning and pp goal that double deflects in...there is your game...
and another horrible pinch by 82 leads to a 2 on 1 3rd goal
43 (frank)n shots on goal...and i think dubnyk saw everyone of them...
did they play poorly..not really....but same ole problems bite them in the ass..
the jeff glass experiment needs to end...he is not the problem but he sure as hell is not a future solution...forsberg needs to play... |

https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/stan-bowman-says-blackhawks-core-four-arent-going-anywhere/amp/
General manager Stan Bowman said Saturday night that the core four - pdx2ord[Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Keith] are still untouchable.
“I don’t know if you can ever say definitively on anything, but that’s not at all our focus right now,” Bowman said. “If anything, we’ve got to try to get their games back. If some of them were nearing 40 years old then you might say, maybe their best years are behind them. But I look at these guys, they’re still young guys. They’re still in the prime of their careers. Maybe not the prime, but close to it. They’ve got a lot of hockey left in them.”
How exactly do you plan to do that, Stan?
is he serious...message to stan: their best years are behind them and so are yours
prime??? very few hockey players are in their prime at 30 or older...
WTF is smoking or drinking...

I’d like to see the Hawks draft 5th but I think 7th to 10th may be more realistic. Unless they get some luck like the Flyers did moving from 13th to 2nd at the draft lottery. If the Hawks can pick in the top 10 they should get a quality prospect.
My immediate concern for the Hawks prospect situation is Sikura. I’m starting to wonder if this season will impact his decision to sign with Chicago. Hopefully not.

heres hopen the oil panther and habs get on a run;
i see nothing that is going to stop this hawk slide: hell the yotes might come up and beat them or the hawks will beat themsleves; then it knights, ducks, caps, kings
with tonights game and the next 5 I projected 1-4-1; now i am not sure where they can get a regulation win...
last 6 games scored more than 2 only once and lost in OT to the flames...

From Lazerus post game article....
“Let’s [bleeping] get excited!” he said. “Let’s [bleeping] feel good about ourselves after one [bleeping] game.”
This is what it’s come to for the Blackhawks. Never mind the Stanley Cup. Never mind the playoffs. The “One Goal” at this point is one spirited effort, one measly victory, one night when they can go to sleep without feeling miserable about everything.
>>>wow..is he ever right...the mighty have fallen to a level of trying to get excited for 1 win...<<< |

This season should make for an interesting summer. I’m not expecting a large number of trades, but there could be a big move to improve the defense.
The situation with all the RFAs will be interesting. Also, which prospects will Stan sign? Likely Jokiharju and Sikura (fingers crossed) but there could be others. Will Stan find any more decent prospects in college or Europe? |

Just read an article in The Athletic that said Sikura is friends with some of the young guys on the Hawks, including DeBrincat. I believe the Hawks have done everything they can to convince Sikura to sign, if he doesn’t it won’t be for lack of effort. |

Last year's flavour of the day was Fortin, where's he now? This year its 30 game a year college boy Sikura as the messiah. That s a lot to expect and illogical. But I guess the fans have to hope. |

I never said I expected Sikura to be the team’s saviour. I didn’t even say I expect him to make the team.
Sikura is a top prospect and that’s been reports by some non-Blackhawks media/hockey analysts too. I’d just rather have Sikura signed than let him walk for nothing. Maybe Sikura is an NHLer maybe he isn’t, I just want to see him develop as a Blackhawk and not a Ranger. |

Also from the Bowman article in The Athletic:
On his confidence level regarding signing Dylan Sikura
“No indications. No reason not to think he wants to sign with us. We’ve had great dialogue going back three years with Dylan. Great discussions with him and his agent. Ultimately that’s his call, but I know he follows our team closely. I had a chance to see him last Monday. I know he knows our guys. He keeps in touch with [Alex] DeBrincat and guys like that on the team. He’s got sort of a friendship with some of the younger players.
Very hopeful. I don’t have any reason not to be. We try to be respectful and not bother him. He’s got a chance to do something special. They got a good team this year. I think they’re going to be in the mix for the NCAA tournament. You win a couple games and you make it to the Frozen Four. I told him the other day, that should be your focus. Think about your team here. You’re one of the leaders; you’re a senior. Go out on a high note. Whenever that ends, we’re ready for you.” |
