Okposo and Reinhart sucking for the first half of the year didn't help, both of those guys play a lot, having literally no 1LW, 1RW and now no 2LW sure as poop doesn't help, not having a 1D, we have a solid 2D playing elite of the elite minutes, a 3/4 and a bunch of bottom pair guys, and an average starting goalie. poop's going to go South real fast with the parity in the league.

There's hope for some of those positions to be filled, but as of now they're not. You're sunk without those guys.

It's not a matter of whether these guys are good or not. They are. Top 6/Top 4 players in the NHL are good. The problem here is: how good are they relative to where they slot.

Jack is an above average top line C
RoR is a very average 2nd line C
Risto is a below average #1
Lehner is a below average #1
Okposo is an average 2nd line winger
We have no first line wingers

Some of these guys have their numbers inflated on the PP. In two years, are any of them still on the PP with Jack? Seems to me that any success in 2 years is based on bumping them all down a notch.

How does that explain O’Reilly being god awful the first 7-10 games when he had “gas in the tank”?

Don’t get me wrong, we need better depth, and it’s a reason we suck. I just think an equal reason for the suckiness is a heavy case of players just not being as good as their reputations

I did a break down of his scoring in 11 game increments about 2 weeks ago. His first 11 games would surprise you how well he did. The second 11 were bad, and recently he was really good.

Edit: 7p in 11 games - well 7 in 10 if you want it- but I did it in 11 game increments based on where we were games wise
