Unfortunately, we brought on the wrong GM to handle the rebuild in GMTM.. He really (frank)ed us.
I'm definitely a supporter of GMJB.
And if Pegula did in fact make it apparent that Kane was not to be resigned, I'm behind him on that too. Pegula loves Buffalo, cares about it's people, it's image, and the Sabres image. Kane's constant BS was a thorn in his side.
If you came in here a week ago and said that Kane's off ice history would lower his return you would have been laughed out of here. On Sunday I said that people don't like Kane and GMs were hesitant to add him to their dressing rooms and a Buffalo fan told me I had no idea what I was talking about. That's why people think the trade is kind of funny. - Jeffmt
I came in here a week ago. Most of you Loafers were saying Kane wouldn't be traded at all...that no one wanted him. That his off ice issues made him literally valueless.
So what I gather from around here, is that Sam is slow, weak, disinterested, bad on defense, and he sucks. Hard to picture that kind of player getting any kind of return, or helping the team in any way in the future.

If I was sitting where you are, I'd be bitter about the Leafs too.

You left out "bong" and "beat him with his mind" references.
I don't count on this site for any inside information on the team.

Get killed every game let's go..
And I'm sure the Vets on the team weren't too pleased to hear that we're going to rebuild they're probably going to ask for a trade which is good news for us
It’s been a while since Kane was a subject matter but the fact is your team is better without him. Fire off his stats, skating ability, grit etc but he’s an individual in a team game.
The interest in him at the deadline was minimal because of it.
He’ll get paid on July 1st by a team that will regret it. That’s just him.
Embrace its over and move on
Haha, you wish. Need a cup or two before I'm jealous of anything the Loafs do. - RhinoFan
I didn't say anything about the Leafs though, you're the one who brought them up out of nowhere. Obviously it's something that's gotten under your skin.
Anyway, your Sabres are going to have four chances to beat them in March. I hope that can provide you some comfort and closure.
It goes to show people the "market" has changed. Two years ago, Roman Polak yielded two 2nd round picks from San Jose at the deadline. Two years later, Evander Kane yields a 2nd and a 4th, plus a B prospect

I think it’s recently been demonstrated that everyone on this present roster is untradable

Tatar netted a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd. It's not the market that changed. It's the fact that, fair or not, the market deems Evander Kane as damaged goods.

Everything seemed a little off this year. Boston overpaid for Nash but it wasn't an over payment like we've seen in the past. Two years ago, with a player like Karlsson available, there's no way there wouldn't be a few GMs willing to gut their teams to get him. I wonder if owners are reeling in their GMs a little bit with CBA negotiations coming up.
the same Pegula who wanted Christian ehrhoff? - Michael Pachla
The pegulas flew out to meet with Erhoff and his family. Same thing with robin regier. If i remember correctly. A recruiting trip.
That's salesmanship, they got them both to come to buffalo. Who does that? That's trying to win from the top down. Reiger waved a no trade contract to come here.
Erhoff was the #1 free agent, it just didn't pan out .
