Spot on as far as The Islanders Ses.
- nyisles7

I've posted in the past I would be concerned if JT was fine with Garth. I do not want to lose JT for nothing, but he should want and demand more from himself and the entire organization.

I can’t see Garth keeping his job if The Islanders are eliminated from the POs.

But again this is The Islanders as Brooks has suggested.

Last night I noticed Crosby go for a change 40 seconds into the OT. I wondered, "I hope JT is watching." Sure enough, JT got off the ice 10 seconds later! Bailey and Leddy stayed out too long, but I was impressed that JT took his cue from his hero. And I wondered, how much better would JT have developed over the years with better coaching? It's kind of sad, really....

No way Crosby accepts lousy coaching John. I get the whole JT is quite thing, but he would have done himself and everyone else a huge favor if he was more vocal and demanding with ownership. This is what real leaders do. JT says the right things, but he has accepted mediocrity.

Yep! Some fans are convinced Wang put in the contract that Garth could not be fired. Sure seems like that sometimes.

The guy joined the Islanders when he was 18 years old. He has known no other NHL organization. He has poured his heart and soul into playing the best game he knows how to play. I'm not sure he realizes how badly the organization is run. It's easy to lose the forest for the trees.....

They don't have to fire Snow. They can hire a POHO to make all the important decisions, while giving Snow an office in the basement and a box of puppies to occupy his time.

JT has plenty of friends in the league Crosby included. I just cannot give JT a pass John. Star players in all sports have gotten GM and coaches fired. It comes with the territory. I'm not looking for star players to be trouble makers and complain about everything, but sometimes you have to be the bad guy for the good of the team and fans and to make real change.

I agree John, but hiring a POHO did not work out last year. Hopefully this offseason they can find someone. Maybe Belmont changes things?

So you think Crosby would have told JT that the Isles are a poorly run organization, and that he should demand that the owners fire the GM who selected him with the first overall pick in the draft? Ummmm......ok.....

It didn't work, because Ledecky was convinced by others (including guys connected to competing teams!) that Snow was doing a fine job. Ledecky needs to dispense with the next listening tour, and just hire a POHO.

JT has problems if he does not know Garth is not the answer. He should not need or expect another player to tell him these things and he should understand them on his own.

I know about the listening tours, but I thought Ledecky was turned down by JT's agent and others?

I still think JT is going along with the " Friend zone" the way the team seems to run. I think he Likes Snow and Weight so there you go..
Even if Snow by some chance keeps his job which he will they need to hire a top notch coach and see what this team could do.

JT is just not a leader and nothing close to a Messier. Messier got coaches fired. Have a hard time believing guys like Billy Smith, Potvin, Bossy, Trottier would have remained quite if Bill and All were lousy.

I recall that JT's agent (Brisson?) turned down the job. Not sure about others.... But so what? Ledecky needs to keep looking.

There were fans chanting for Al's firing in the late 70s. I'm glad the players you cited didn't listen to the fans.

I agree John. Ledecky needs to do more than look this offseason. Tell the POHO they have full power and hope Garth quits if he cannot be fired.

Garth won't quit. He'd be getting paid big bucks to play with the puppies....

I agree he's not quitting and would probably love getting paid to do nothing.

Fans are not always right. There was frustration, because the Isles had been having trouble getting over the hump for years; i.e., the late 70s Montreal dynasty. Al had been coaching for about 6 years, the Isles won the President's trophy only to get bounced by the Rags in the playoffs.

Some of us were smart enough to keep our mouths shut....
