Ya we might beat STL and maybe take one game vs EDM...that's about it. We seem to beat STL a fair bit. - LordHumungous
I am hoping we don't win any . Buf Ott and Ari play each other so it would guarantee us a lower finish |

To be honest I thought we'd finish out of the bottom 5 around 25th but I really wasn't prepared for how bad Markstrom/Nilsson and the rest of this club would be. Markstrom showed promise and decent #'s last year backing up Miller and I thought he might be ready for a starting role...boy was I wrong on that one. It's clear to me now why FLA bailed on him.
But all good I'm all for the draft pick...just expected a bit more I guess. |

Just like your team Defending Champ De-throned!
Good match. You would have beat others that won this week. |

I think they will win when they aren’t supposed to, like maybe a stinker against the ducks and then a bounce back shocker against the Sharks, then a bunch of losses in a row, then a win vs the Ducks. |

they are both fine as backups. You don't make a pair of backups your starting goalie tandem and expect success, they knew this year was a wash. |

Now, I’m not all Marky as the starter forever or anything, but a) the defence sucks and b) it could be way worse. There are plenty of “good” goalies doing worse. Price is rocking a .906 S%, Miller has 8 W’s on 24 starts, Lehner, who Buffalos gave up what, a 1st+ to acquire has been brutal. Those are just a few examples, but there are lots of guys who were expected to be much better then they have been |

And yet he hasn’t managed to help his team win games... How soon people forget the stinkers the goalies of the past let in. |

This team has had bottom 5 written on it since September. There’s no surprises. Rushing unready kids into the lineup won’t help them or the team. Pres really took a lot of shot for supporting proper development of players. Another year of the Sedins, maybe two, slowly inserting guys WHEN THEYVE EARNED IT. - neem55
Shhh, you'll be called a troll.
Play the kids for our entertainment. Screw the long term plan. |

I am fine with players earning it, but, what qualifies as earning it?
A)Being one of the top 13 forwards at camp/pre-season.
B)Being as good as others in league, as opposed to others on this team.
Or, C)having spent time in a development league playing against men.
A-shouldnt be hard to do.
B-We would barely see new players ever inserted into lineup.
C-some are playing in these development leagues already.
By re-signing the twins, you are basically handcuffing the team by commiting yourselves to them for the season, closing up any possible openings for new/young players to enter the team.
Why does it have to be the Sedins? Rather overspend on a 2 year deal for a centre like Bozak, a player that can actually keep up with the pace of todays game & let one of the wingers in the system try prove they are 2nd line worthy. |

Someone has to decide when the kids are ready.
Going back to when McCann and JV made the club, they prolly shouldn't have but they were better than others. Yet they could have used more time developing.
There is a need to have players in front of the prospects, guys they need to beat out for jobs or guys that will be there if they don't earn spots at camp.
Agree on the Sedins standing somewhat in the way of that, it would be easier if whoever was signed didn't have ntc and could be moved if/when youth earn roster spots.

Sutter, Tavev, Edler, MDZ, Gagner, Baertschi, Eriksson, Granlund. Not enough? sign a couple of cheap stop-gaps. The rebuild starts when the Sedins are gone. |

Bozak makes the twins look like speedster's
For the same money I'd rather see the twins then granlund and Gagner.
Even 3m per.
Trade Goldy as well, sign Kane, to many G's on the team. |

the correct answer is B. I dont care if we dont see many new faces in the lineup as it isnt about icing the best possible team today (the roster is a low bar). it'll be pretty obvious in camp if a kid is ready for a shot in real NHL games and depending on how they do they may stay or they might be sent down |
