Yes not all of those kids will make it, however, signing Perron (which is a pipe dream IMO, why would he sign here) could potentially block a kid from a spot in two years.

Sven signing three years could potentially block a young kid also . It is a three year contract I doubt all the prospects will be out preforming all the vets by then .

The 50 points difference tells me DP would be an upgrade over Sven .

If you are moving Sven out regardless then that is a different topic . I am for that but he needs to be replaced. I do think Canucks will re-sign him but I hope he is moved and upgraded. We need a better top LW

Gagner topped 50 points last season, not really working out the same this year. Perron is benefitting from his environment, he’s not a point per game player with the Canucks IMO, and he turns 30 next month.

Here's the problem though, what if in two years the kids are ready, Goldobin, Dahlen, Boucher, Lind, Gadjovich, Pettersson, Gaudette, Boeser, whoever they draft this year, what do you do with Perron then when you already have Eriksson, Gagner, Baertschi, Virtanen, Grandlund, Leipsic, Motte, etc.

Gagner not turning out? Everyone in here and on media has him penciled in to play top 6 with the twins next year.

lol well he has been a top six and is producing like a top six the last 2 years albeit not a contender top six but still decent numbers.... I thought Vanek was worth more to be honest then Motte. Turning out to be a good trade for CLB
