It was nice to see Demko get the win in his first game. Ian Mac reported this morning that Demko, thru his agent, asked the Canucks for a game before the end of the year. Glad they could get him in and show him the different speed of the NHL vs AHL. Good for his future. |

Did you know that is now 5 of Benning's pick that have now seen nhl action for the Canucks, the same amount as Hextall's Flyers, in the same time period?

Just finished the game, other than the late third melt down, I like that the team is playing with tenacity.
Had an excellent visit today with Mr/Mrs. Marwood, good times, we trashed the Sedins, criticized Green, we threw a few soy lattes around, great time. - Makita

Benning > Hextall - Pres.cup
I hope Benning is on the Winnipeg Jets path, slow and steady wins the race. I watched the Jets vs Leafs last night and the jets have amassed a good group of kids there over the past six years.
Getting Scheifele at #7 was an absolute steal. |

All of them bring a little something different and it is working good for their teams chemistry. |

They're big and fast with a mix of small and skilled, they looked good. Their goaltending is much improved this year and made a big difference.
Laine - Ehlers - Scheifele - Connor - Morrissey - all really good young kids who put in their time in extra years in junior or the AHL and then made the show. |

Worst timing, a very Canuck thing to do eh?
Thankfully the other teams put together some wins last night. Hopefully we lose out, and can find out way back into 3rd or even 2nd last - NewYorkNuck
It’s kind of like a player scoring a hat trick, their team would *probably* be better off if they scored one goal every game, but after three games it’s still a goal per game pace.
No one was complaining about wins before Christmas, but those points contribute just as much... |

Yes I know he went straight to the NHL but from a pro league in Finland. |

The cross seam pass to the left post, streatched out with the pad and glove? Was Atkinson I think who couldn’t get it up over the pad from in tight. Demko had the glove up too, would have been more impressive if the puck did get up and he caught it! |

He went straight from the draft (same age as all othe draft eligible kids) to the NHL, league be damned. If the Canucks win one of the top three picks, who are all projected to be NHL ready will you advocate slow and steady? Each player is on their own path, some need more time then others. |

Pettersson Gaudette OJ Lind Demko Gadj are all developing in other leagues also. |

Maybe I’m schizophrenic because I want the team to have the best pick possible in each round, but I still prefer to see them win than lose. |

I confess. I watched the game yesterday but I am scrolling through it again on the PVR. I saw few things I liked wanted to watch them again. |

Jesus just because one player bucked the trend doesn't mean the rest didn't take the slow and steady pace, you just like to argue, is your name Manvan?
Whether you like it or not the Canucks are on the slow and steady pace for building, four out of the past five years they've finished at the bottom of the league (bottom six), with no signs of turning the corner just yet.
However, kids are soaking in other leagues. |

Yup...I hope they can step in next year or the year after and make a positive impact on the team. Much like Winnipeg the guys are developing, it just takes awhile to see the fruits of it. |

I liked how as the game went on Gaudette looked more confident with the puck. I think he had three shots (attempts) on one shift. He and Virtanen looked good together. |

At this point I prefer to see them lose but play well and play an exciting brand of hockey. |
