Didn't he also donate all the money he received for hosting that decision special to a charity?

Every few years, athletes get massive hype and we're told they're future legends.

So far in my lifetime, only 2 athletes have had that kind of hype and actually been BETTER than the hype: LeBron and Tiger.

- kingcong39

The internet being around is part of the reason there was so much hype.

And there's a larger contingent in Sabreland who are still mad at him for enabling the two-year tank in the first place.

As great as Tiger was, his hype was totally out of control. He was supposed to shatter Jack's record, and never got there. No one really expected LeBron to be as good as Jordan, and he wasn't. People expected Tiger to be better than Jack.

Haters will never be happy until everything is what THEY think it should be. Mr. Pegula is clearly an owner who wants to win, and wants to do right by the fans. Buffalo's image has been badly besmirched among players since 2007, and we need to revive the image of this community as a place where players desire to be. Pegula has begun that work with his own $$$$$$$.

He would've been if he never got married and was allowed to have his (frank) fests. He was fine until then. He would've come back from the ACL.

He's clearly not the type of person who should be married.

His dad dying caused a bigger issue than most people realize.

His obsession with the Army Rangers lead to a lot of his demise as well

The tank was the right thing to do. Darcy Regier was the right man for the job. We were all just so sick of him

I remember, I’m being sarcastic.

Those are the ridiculous things say about the teams Lebron faced.

Lebron had 1 finals I’d call “bad”. That was the first with the Heat.

- sbroads24

Jordan won his finals. Lebron was a passenger in his. He needed Chalmers, Allen and Kyrie to win the games for him. Btw, Jordan won his in greatest era in history of the game. You were probably like 5-10 at the time so I’m sure you remember. Stick to hockey Crooked Broadary. You’re embarrassing yourself.

That Jordan didn’t run through the playoffs to the finals every year.

People love to call out Lebron for choking in the finals, but don’t point out that the GOAT was taken out in the first round 3 straight times.

I’m sure he was fantastic in all those games, right?

- sbroads24

You do realize that the bulls picked 3rd in 84 and Jordan took them to the playoffs in every year he played for them after that. He fvcks up his ankle his second year, the Bulls want him to sit out the year, he wants nothing to do with it as he wants to get his team into the playoffs. His ppg his 1st three years in those 1st rd exits 29.3,
43.7, and 35.7. He was the team as the rest of that roster was sh!t.

His rookie year led the team in reb, asst, points, stl, and was 3rd in blks.
Second season still manages to lead the team in ppg while only starting 7 of 18 games in sheltered mins 25.1.
Third season absolutely destroys teams and carries the Bulls. 37.1 ppg next closest on the team is Charles Oakley at 14.5.

He comes out of retirement the second time and at 38 leads the team in points, stl, asst, and is 3rd in reb.
39 2nd in reb, asst, points, and 1st in stl.

You realize Lebron has led his team in scoring and assists every year he’s been in the league, right?

After 15 years

Lebron better win % .668 to .659 Jordan

More rebounds, more assists, more triple doubles.

The only thing Jordan has is 3 more PPG, on a ton more shots, half a steal per game and his titles.

There is 0 debate who’s a better all around player. It’s Lebron

Sure, and what was Chicago’s record, when Jordan retired the first time, in the middle of the finals runs?

55-27 and playoff second round with no Jordan

Some of, if not all of these records will ever be broken. The only real stat that he didnt pass jack on was majors. Career scoring avg, win percentage, missed cuts (15 total in his career, which is unreal) total victories, 3 junior ams, 3 us ams, scoring avg in majors, the list goes on and on. Hes better than jack without question imo.
He was winning at an all time clip while he was married, i dont think his marital issues had as much of an impact as people want to believe. It came at the same time when he really outgrew his body. If he had just layed of the HGH he wouldnt have gotten injured as much and would have >100 pga tour wins and 20 majors.
He also won 40 european tour tournaments.

3rd all time in steals, but not as good a defender as LeBron. Fiercest competitor in all of sports that I ever saw in my history of watching.

Here is the moment everyone knew he was going to be the G.O.A.T. Gerbe. I was lucky enough to see it live. LeBron would’ve passed it to Cartwright and prayed. Not MJ.

It is funny that Bettman comes from the NBA and learned nothing about making a league more fun.
- jcragcrumple

The NHL doesn't have a star that makes sports fans (not just the fans of that particular sport) tune into like LeBron does the NBA (or Jordan did), or like Tiger Woods does with golf. The NFL is a different animal, but that's an institution.

Ok then.

How about those Bolts!
Showing Laughs how the game is really played.
Baba has a terrific playoff record in terms of w-l...but losing several SC finals, and getting beat other times in the earlier rounds of the playoffs...welll, good coach..great?? Very Debatable.

Jordan come out of retirement the Bulls are fighting for their playoff lives 34-31, they go 13-4 after he comes back.

Lebron would’ve gotten the snot kicked out of him in Jordan’s era. Dude flops around as much as Myers did...... I kid I kid. He does flop at the slightest breeze.

But seriously the competition in this era is rubbish imo. You have maybe 4 teams that can win it. Prior to the Bulls finally figuring out, there was 10 teams that had a shot and neither conference had the advantage over the other and the talent was dispersed much more evenly. The Bulls played 5 different opponents in the finals.

Everyone wants to be like Mike. The same is not said of Lebron.
