Better Days! Goo Goo Dolls......
There are a coming!
You can’t changed things overnight, I truly believe Pegula’s want to make this right. 3-5 years is a good time frame, these next few years will say it all. Going through coaches/GM’s until they get right fit (held Darcy too long), GMJB will get this organization going .........finally.
*Beanie/McDermott will live/die on this QB selection the next 3/4 years. It’s a tough business, it’s not fantasy’s as some on here think!
Have to give to get:
- Trade Ristolainen, ROR and a young prospect - maybe Nylander. If we get Dahlin, it opens up some great possibilities with 55. Guhle will be just fine, get Eichel a winger for 55. He will not be missed in the lockeroom.
- Goalie is another huge aspect of this make over - Ullmark and ?
- Give Jack the “C”
- Bring Lindy back as an assistant
- Those Uni’s and that Blue!
- New goal song, to bring on new memories.
NICE JOB MIKE! |

While not raising ticket prices is a good start it seems like it was just something done to save face.
This team better start winning and better start winning soon |

yeah, I get that...but if you're going to start a new seven year cycle, might as well start with that |

Opting to not raise ticket prices every year would infuriate the other owners and make the Pegulas pariahs. The increases in the past have been reimbursed through the sabres bucks anyway |

Haters will never be happy until everything is what THEY think it should be. Mr. Pegula is clearly an owner who wants to win, and wants to do right by the fans. Buffalo's image has been badly besmirched among players since 2007, and we need to revive the image of this community as a place where players desire to be. Pegula has begun that work with his own $$$$$$$. |

My QB board:
Baker Friggin Mayfield (of course)
Josh Rosen
Sam Darnold
Jackson
Allen
If Cleveland does indeed take Allen 1st, I will laugh out loud...dream scenario for Bills.
Taking a RB 2nd overall, in the league as it is now to me is just a poor decision. Barkley may be superhuman, but will he be that much better than the 2nd RB selected? Will the gap be that much in production to justify that high of a pick? We shall see.
I see Giants taking Chubb.
So that leaves the field wide open for the Jets...they are the wild card. Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield.
Do the Browns then move in and take Barkley at 4, eh...well they got their QB so I could see it ... still think it is too army for. RB...but that’s why I’m not a GM.
Bills move up with trade to Bronco’s, getting one of Darnold/Mayfield/Rosen whoever is left.
Unless...Miami, or Pats move up in trade at 4 with Cleveland....Miami has the inside track here in my mind...do they take Mayfield.
(Going to be hard converting to a Finns fan) - IonSabres
Sam
Rosen
Baker
That’s it |

Great write up Michael. Love the deep stats on the Sabres futility. Man have they been terrible the past 7 years.
As for the letter: I'm appreciative of Terry acknowledging some faults and take it as a pledge to stop tanking and move forward.
I'm on record as believing this is been a tank year.
I kind of feel like this has been a 7 year tank.
Adding kane and ror sped up the process.
Maybe they were added to fool fans and their "warts" actually were holding us back- intentionally |

No, the 2015 tank year they gave sth 6.5% up from 2.5% they have previously and still gave last year.
They raised the prices 4% , and gave an extra 4% back that season. Now the price is still up, but back to 2.5% in pagula bucks |

I love mr. Pegula, but "mr. Pegula is clearly an owner who wants to win" isn't the case.
Moving forward he may want to win, but to be this terrible this season, tpegs would have to be in on the losing.
Especially if hes involved as much as people complain about. |

He hasn't beeen successful in hockey yet, but he's given them every tool to succeed.
He also accomplished what Ralph Wilson couldn't for 15 years: made the playoffs |

No offense to Mr. Wilson, but its not like he set the bar high. Broncos have as many losing seasons as they do Super Bowls since Pat Bowlen bought the team 30 years ago. Comparing Wilson to an eventual Hall Of Fame owner is kind of harsh but I think you get the point im trying to make here. |

The broader point I'm trying to make is that Pegula is giving those under him the chance to succeed, and full use of his resources. Botterill mentioned it in his wrap up, that it's unacceptable that they're given all these resources and they weren't able to take advantage of it.
Look at what Jeter is doing in Miami. He can't afford the team so he sold off all his players. That's a bad owner |

Of course, I don't discount what Pegula is doing but at the end of the day winning is everything. He's done a good job of turning the Bills around and getting good people in place. Now I hope the Sabres can take the next step in becoming relevant again. I highly doubt Botts thought this was a playoff team coming into this year but I don't think he imagined finishing 31st. Probability of a higher pick helps this team more then finishing 21st could of ever done for this franchise. |

is he though?
I agree Murray did some bad things, but he was give 3 years and change as a gm
he did not convince Marrone to stay
hired marrone's replacement, who lasted 2 years
you need stability with the franchises, and it's up to an owner to hire someone to tell him these things
it's a mixed bag, some good, some bad |

I think the letter to the season ticket holders was a good one. He doesn't run away from what a sh_t show the Sabres have been since he took possession of them. And holding the prices on tickets is obviously the right thing to do. However, they really need to turn it around starting this year or the Sabres could permanently hurt their brand in WNY and the Niagara region of Ontario. |
