Great free pickup, we need more players like him who strengthen the bottom 6
From Peter King:
6. BUFFALO (FROM INDIANAPOLIS)—JOSH ALLEN, QB, WYOMING
While we’re hung up on finding a landing spot for all the quarterbacks, I’d remind you of four things at this pick: A) I don’t know if Buffalo loves Allen; B) but I hear they love his ability to throw it through the lake effect winds and snow; C) Allen is a garrulous, genial version of Jim Kelly, a rifle-armed work in progress the fans in western New York will love; and D) I think this trade fits both teams because I’m not sure the Colts would demand both Bills’ first-round picks in return. In fact, because of the strength of the second round, I could see Colts GM Chris Ballard valuing the 53rd and 56th picks collectively higher than the 22nd pick in this draft. So, 12, 53, 56 and, say, 96 for six? Could be equitable. It would leave the Bills with their second of two first-rounders. |

I'm sure he will..by the way Jim Kelly was not rifle armed as Peter King wrote. He had a good arm but he did not have an Elway, Marino, Jeff George among others arm. |

He's really good. Exactly what the sabres need: cheap, fast and able to play wherever, but I agree, Pach, he's better at center. Next summer, offer him a Jarnkrok deal. |

No, but the league is trending towards QB's who aren't spectacularly accurate. They have designed offenses that suit their QB's strengths.
Deshaun Watson wasn't very accurate last year. Niether was Goff. Carson Wentz was 25th in completion %.
I don't like Allen, but you can design an offense around him

Josh Allen is not a QB you trade up for he's a project we can't mortgage our future for him
if he falls to us that's a different story and all the other QBS are off the board

They are all projects.
Everyone, including GM's and scouts need to stop pretending that they know how they will turn out. No one does.

I liked one of the quotes from Beane that went something like we've never done more hw on a player than we did on Cam.. I think that yeah, no one knows how a guy is going to turn out, but the more work you do on a guy, the more you can maybe predict his development curve. Just get the right guy with the most correctable flaws and most team oriented attitude. |

Now that Baltimore is acquiring former Saints’ WR Willie Snead, Ravens are out on Dez Bryant. They showed some initial interest. |

Jim Mora touts Josh Rosen as potential Hall of Famer
“Those that question [Rosen] and his toughs, competitiveness and love of the game are so far off anything I’ve seen in 6+ years knowing this man,” Mora said on Twitter. “He’s the real deal, he has it all, he will be a great one, he will win championships. . . . I’ve had the amazing fortune of being around 24 members of the Pro Football HOF, I believe we may see Josh Rosen enshrined one day. A lot of work to do, a lot of games/championships to win, but he has the qualities to do it.”

To be fair, he was a consensus top QB.
We don’t have that this year.
I think most teams have their “top guy” and think they know how they will turn out, but the odds and history show that no one really does.
And that’s not be saying don’t trade up, or don’t go get that guy, but just don’t pretend to know Allen will be a giant bust. We/they truly don’t have a clue |
