At least copy and paste Staple's tweet saying that and give him the credit
That's possible, but like you said, he's still under contract with them. No guarantee TOR is going to give anyone permission to speak with him or that he actually wants to leave. I'm assuming it's a dead matter until it isn't. - eichiefs9

True, but I’d argue that he’s now overqualified. Thus he should be terminated regardless. |

Unfortunately, I think you're right. Cyrgalis didn't have any brilliant insights either. Mostly just a rehash of what's already been said here.... |

It's nuts if the Isles wait forever and lose other quality people. - ses111
It should be pretty obvious to you guys that Snow isn't going anywhere. I don't know how you can keep deluding yourselves. |

It will not effect me much at all. I will not be losing big money on this team if Garth comes back. Fans will not be putting up billboards about me. |

This from Lou L:
“First of all, my responsibility is right here with the Toronto Maple Leafs,” Lamoriello said on a conference call. “I made an agreement and a decision three years ago and it’s my intent to honor that.”
Means, get your check book out L and M, it’s gonna cost you a lot |

The way things are trending, I think we're going to hear more and more about the potential of trading Anders Lee at some point before his deal is up. They're not going to be able to afford to sign him thanks to the contracts Snow has handed out to dildos like Ladd and Clutterbuck.
I know the Schweiner and most of the rest of you hate the idea, but I'm into it for the right defenseman. He'll be 29 when his next contract starts and that's a dicey call to give him major money/term at that age. Frankly, and I love the guy and what he brings, I'd look to move him this offseason while his value is at his highest. Obviously only in the right deal, not looking to flip him for any old dingus that plays defense. |

So you're not trading him to the Flyers for A-Mac? I agree. It would be nice to get that top pairing guy, even if the Isles have to add a pick to get him. |

I don't even know who the target would/could be or if there is even someone on the block out there that would make sense to trade for. But s hitface fu ckboy Snow put us in a position where we aren't going to be able to trade young, talented guys and likely can't afford to keep Lee after next year...so the time would be now to capitalize on his 40-goal season.
Instead, we'll just let him walk for free next season when we can't afford him. |

Trouba would be my target if I'm you guys. Granted I have no idea if he is now happy with the Jets, but that would be a solid pick up. |

I think that would only be a possibility if Tavares walks, in which case Lee may then become affordable (but I'd still question the intelligence behind signing him to a full-term deal).
Overhardt (Trouba's agent) is notoriously awful to deal with in contract negotiations and it could end up being an expensive deal for the Isles. Also, Pulock seems to be emerging (not calling him a sure-thing yet) as a really good RH defenseman and having Pulock-Trouba-Boychuk down the right side would leave us with one hell of an expensive 3rd-pairing RHD. de Haan is likely to walk and I think the priority should be a LH guy to slot in behind Leddy.
Wouldn't be "ideal", but I wonder if the Isles/Jackets couldn't work a one-for-one swap of RFA's Brock Nelson and Ryan Murray. Murray is oft-injured, but a most decidedly better player than Nelson. Nelson gives them some middle-6 center depth.
I'd also like to see them take a stab at getting Brodin out of MIN. |
