I was just gonna write that the Islanders have done 3 things well in the last decade. Draft Tavares, draft Barzal and beating the Rangers in Brooklyn. Anything else they've done has been awful. I want no part of that.

Frankly, they don't deserve a shred of credit for drafting Tavares. It was a no-brainer pick with the 1st overall. I'd give them a lot more credit for taking Anders Lee in the 6th round than for Tavares at 1st overall.

They've done a pretty good job of remedying a couple of mistakes in Rheinhart and Strome as well. Turning those guys into Eberle and Barzal is actually impressive.
