Wonder how far up the Rangers’ pecking order he was and if Gorton was dragging his feet, so he took the job offered to him, which is a pretty good one. Is Quinn or Keefe the target?
- airjan23

If he takes a month and comes away hiring Dan Ballsyma I am going to be pretty pissed

Why do we always assume the worst? Maybe he liked the Dallas offer better.

I know you wrote "if" Jan, but its funny we automatically assume someone on the Rangers did something wrong.

Maybe he's more interested in "winning" the offseason than winning a Cup? Dallas is the reigning offseason champions.

Well I would also say they have way better odds at a cup next year than we do.

Does Lindqvist impact the ability to Kovi or draft Wahlstrom.

Even if by some miracle we are able to draft Wahlstrom ( I dont think he lasts to #9 ), he is committed to playing at Harvard for at least this season. So drafting him wouldnt affect signing Kovi, Tavares or any other FA.

OFFICIAL: #NYR have agreed to terms with free agent forward Michael Lindqvist.

Lindqvist, 23, skated in 33 games with Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League this past season, registering 20 goals and 14 assists for 34 points.

This was decided 2 weeks ago...
Several NHL-clubs was interested. It was said both Caps and NYR wanted him badly

Guessing a roster player or 2 is gone at the draft in a trade up

Signing Lindqvist might affect that. Lindqvist is 23.

Lindqvist at 23 is coming over to a new country and different sized rink. He signed a 2-way contract, unless he has a tremendous camp, I would expect him to start the season at Hartford to get acclimated to playing here.

We now have 47 contracts towards our cap of 50.
I don't see how this signing has any bearing on Kovi...

"I like to score goals and shoot the puck."

@MLindqvist34 looks to bring his offensive touch from Sweden over to #NYR.

He will appeal and keep playing through the playoffs

Now that Wilson has been suspended for 3 games I can’t wait to see what kind of blatant and dirty poop Pittsburgh gets away with tomorrow night

That sucks that he can appeal. Brian Burke thinks the suspension will tame Wilson.

I dont know the rules, but I feel like that has happened in the past. I just read this which seems contradictory to what we have seen before or maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly? (Maybe I'm confusing it with the nonsense in the NFL?)

https://www.nhl.com/news/...ty-questions/c-738846#q11

Can a Player who receives Supplemental Discipline appeal the Department's decision?
Yes. Players may appeal all on-ice discipline to the Commissioner, provided written notice of the appeal is provided within 48 hours. The Commissioner will endeavor to hear all appeals on an expedited basis and will determine whether the decision was supported by clear and convincing evidence. A subsequent appeal right to a neutral arbitrator will be available for suspensions of six (6) or more games. The neutral arbitrator shall have full remedial authority in respect of the matter. The standard of review will be whether the League's finding of violation of the League Playing Rules and the penalty imposed were both supported by substantial evidence.

In all appeals (first to the Commissioner and then to the neutral arbitrator), the Player will remain suspended pending appeal (unless the full term of the Player's suspension has run).

Milo is on my side. Shouldn't have been a suspension at all.
