Zibanejad's contract isn't something the Sens were interested in and I don't think that has changed. Plus Brassard's 3M off the books for next season gives them cap flexibility to sign the core players.

the way I thought it worked was:

15 teams that miss the playoffs get top 15 picks (we all agree there)

But THEN, the next 8 picks go to those bounced in round 1

That would be picks 16-23.

THEN round 2 happens and 4 more teams get added. So that's why I'm confused why people are saying it's 22nd pick.
