Picks 28-31 are bottom 4 now.
Pick 27 isn't them; it was the loser of NSH WPG.
Pick 26 goes to the Boston Bruins who had the better record.
Therefore Pick 25 will go to Ottawa.
Sens currently have the 4th & 25th pick in the draft - AlfieisKing

Penguins finished 10th in a 31 league team.
Only the final 4 teams have their positions reset to 28th to 31st pick. Since the remaining 5 teams all had a better record than the Penguins, there is no change to the Penguins draft spot.
21 teams were worse than the Penguins, so they had the 22nd overall pick.
Ottawa will pick 22nd.

Zibenjad and #33 for #22, gustavsson and a 3rd (Ian cole) - Tumbleweed and prospect Nick Moutrey...and I think it's pick #35..not that it matters.
Zibanejad's contract isn't something the Sens were interested in and I don't think that has changed. Plus Brassard's 3M off the books for next season gives them cap flexibility to sign the core players. |

you seem to be missing the point that you got very little in return for a good young player. |

Depends how Gustavsson turns out. If the ends up as our number 1 goalie than our return isn't bad. |

The return they got for him is looking pretty good at the moment.
Could you imagine how bad the center position will be if Duchene walks/ is traded too though |

Ya I was thinking about this man -
the way I thought it worked was:
15 teams that miss the playoffs get top 15 picks (we all agree there)
But THEN, the next 8 picks go to those bounced in round 1
That would be picks 16-23.
THEN round 2 happens and 4 more teams get added. So that's why I'm confused why people are saying it's 22nd pick. |

more then likely and new players will be added . The Sens dont have the fortune of letting our lead goal scorer leave the team for zero return. i think JVR would fit in fine in a Sens uni |

true. there's a good chance of that happening.
top free agents usually end up with small market garbage fire teams. |
